Have you ever stalled your bike? I have managed it once when it mattered... Not a nice feeling! And hell yes, I was cringing on the inside, bashing myself getting the bike going ASAP.
One thing that can be both dangerous and annoying are when cars start rolling forward before the green light even comes on - meaning that you have to take off out of a "tunnel". Pulling in front of the car prevents this most of the time.

Jup, that certainly improves the deal. If the weather is good and I'm not in too much of a hurry I quite often commute along the summit road
