Is it just a matter of the colours and then you make the shapes .
or is there actually any pattern off the magazine actually being transfered to the paint ?
I guess you need to use shiny paper , is that the only reason for a magazine?

It's a combination of the layers of colours and how you move the magazine once it has been placed ontop of the painted area. If you place it down, and then run your fingers across the top of the magazine page and then lift straight off you will get a pattern. Same as if you did the same thing but pulled or twisted the magazine and then lifted off....... The pattern also varies in accordance with how much of one colour is applied either over or under another colour.....

Try to avoid the magazine sticking to the paint, cause then it transfers the print and sometimes a thin layer of the magazine to the painting, and thats just wrong....

Yup it's glossy one sided posterboard. Thicker than ordinary art paper - it's gotta be, otherwise it would just soak up too much paint and shred....

I also assume that the background colour is the first to go down
, guessing this ,as when you remove the magazine paper you want to leave the particular colour of that shape you make.?

It is posterboard, glossy on one side and matt on the other. It is thicker than standard art paper. So the paint doesn't soak it and shred it.... get mine from a supplier in the USA, as I haven't been able to source something the same over here as yet...

It is a mixture of all the colours, but sometimes the first coat down if left to dry slightly longer will stand out more, sometimes the other colours blend in to produce all sorts of interesting effects, all depends on how long they are left to dry before being smeared.....

Fantastic job DingoZ, I have to say I didn't believe you when you said it was done with spray cans until I saw the video, looks great.

Cheers to everyone who has commented on the Tank Art so far. Was really a fun challenge to do a painting on a Tank. Hopefully going to be doing some more....

Below are some other paintings of mine. Gives a better idea of what I mainly paint, which is the alien sci fi - mixture sceneries...

If you want a painting some are for sale, or I can do an original for you....That is the best thing about this form of art, no two paintings are the same.....

Once again cheers for the positive comments on the artwork.... - And when Quallman1234 lets me at the fairings, we should have some more pictures to match the tank......
