A male motorcycle rider died after crashing in the Auckland suburb of Swanson at 1.30pm yesterday, police spokesman Jayson Rhodes said.
No other vehicles were involved in the accident and speed did not appear to be a factor, he said.
A post-mortem examination would be conducted today to determine the cause of the man's death.
His name would be released after police had contacted his next of kin, Mr Rhodes said.
A second man riding a motorcycle was killed in a separate accident near Pukekohe yesterday.
No further details were available.

I hope that you hear from your mate real soon.....
Can ya pop around to his place and leave a message on his door.
As he may have lost his cell phone.
Which area/suburb does your mate who rides the GSXR live....?
Maybe someone in his area could pop around to check it out for you if he lives too far away from you.
Man - 750Y I really hope your mate's Ok... Anything we can do to help?

Its a pain in the ass knowing there has been an accident while people you know are out riding - especially if those people are prone to having accidents. I've gotten used to the 'ring' the phone makes now.

Yeh it's a bugger orlrite, but we all know that the reaper will get us somehow. Personally I'd be quite happy to go of old age causes on my bike.![]()
A post mortem is required and the cause of death is not pronounced until the coroners inquest is complete.Originally Posted by TwoSeven
