It works both ways Mike and society has detremined that we should all travel no faster than 100kph on the open road and nor should we overtake on double yellow lines. Those who think it unfair should by all means campaign against it but don't whinge about it because you all know the consequences.

I dont deny what your saying, its a sad fact. But both vifferman and Mike L raised some valid points. Its the attitude that is proberly the biggest problem.
I dont see the speed is the issue, its the person behind the wheel. Im sorry but I dont see targeting the person who is doing 100-115kmh is going to fix the problem. You have to target the attitude and develop BETTER driving skills. Instead of trying to lower the the average speed. Why dont we attempt to lift the quality of driving. I imagine that would result in a far better driving record for the country.

Mate out of curiosity,since you were going at hyper speed did you think about not stopping.Seems like the more people i meet on bikes the more people i know who are more than happy to try a runner.Wouldnt want to get caught after trying though.

I was out to enjoy a 'hoon' on my bike, it's not my policy to really piss off Mr Plod, besides which to have done a runner would have involved an increase in speed which was not really an option on that stretch of road(contrary to popular belief, I don't have a death wish!)

Spud, try reading properly, if you read my earlier posts you'll see that I have always taken ownership of my actions, neither have I blamed anyone but me for my situation, the only issue I have/had is the heavy handedness of the punishment....jeeze............does anyone here actually bother to read others posts before responding or do y'all just fire from the hip?

Did you know what the penalty would be for you actions BEFORE your 'incident'? If not BAD LUCK - might be timely to start learning pal, like what happens when you get caught 'driving while forbidden' would be a good place to start.
If you DID know then what's all the complaining for?
Do you think the penalties is unrealistic and unfair? - campaign to get them reduced (muffled giggle here).
Taking ownership for actions includes taking ownership for the outcome - including any penalty.
