don't feel to bad though. i got a indian bus driver xmas morning who blew over 800mgs and suspended his licence for 1 month. hows he gunna drive his bus now, please please officer i willl neva do it again, u r ruining my life.

It's good to hear that they are actually being tested. I used to work at an establishment where they held indian functions. About half a dozen taxi drivers used to stumble out of there hardly able to walk. There would be breath testing stops at the top of the road... we got informed that they just wave the taxi's through....

oh taxi drivers get tested alright. we picked up more than a few in my time on the 'bus'. people see them not getting tested and presume that they are being waved thru, but often it is that cab's 15th time thru, and in a smaller place like hamvegas, they will each get tested once, then waved the rest.

or how about a nurse, 5 minutes after finishing work, blowing 1200?

Spud, try reading properly, if you read my earlier posts you'll see that I have always taken ownership of my actions, neither have I blamed anyone but me for my situation, the only issue I have/had is the heavy handedness of the punishment....jeeze............does anyone here actually bother to read others posts before responding or do y'all just fire from the hip?

If I missed your point I'm sorry but you are missing mine as well. The point is you knew the penalties before you committed the offence, (if you didn't, you should have) so don't whine about it. If you want to avoid the problem it is totally in your hands.

I didn't say they were not connected, As for experiencing harsh decelleration, try dropping your head (in a helmet) from a height of 3 feet, your head will reach a speed of approx 38mph. You will decellerate from this 'terminal' speed to zero in approx .01 of a second when your head hits the floor, you have just experienced 'harsh decelleration'. Assuming your wearing a helmet that meets or exceeds UK regs, your head will be in excellent shape, however from a height of 4ft it's a different story...........

The above is the standard impact test for bike helmets in the UK and is also the basis for many other countries testing

And how many accidents do we have on kiwi motorways per km travelled? If your going to compare, compare like with like!

German autobahns and NZ highways simply can't be compared! How many kilometres of roadway do we have in NZ that are even remotely similar to the Kraut roads? I don't know but I'd hazard a guess at less the 80 ks. There are all the crash stats you could want up on the LTSA site, I've posted them before, can't be bothered again. Go have a look for yourself and come back if you want.
