    eek Road kill

Darn road kill. I went from Napier to Wairoa today. Plenty of road works and about 11 possums and hedgehogs dead on the road and one fully grown Goat in the southern lane. I went to Wairoa and had a feed and on the way home the Goat was still in the southern lane. At least 8 cars had passed me heading south so what :spudwhat: they drove around the thing :spudwhat: I moved it but what gives if it is in your lane move it. What you all think about that? It was a big goat and if you ran in to it you would do the flying thing.

I'd be tempted to move the goat, if I could do so safely. Still pisses me off if I find a dead possum around a blind corner on the appex (not a good feeling if you find it with the bike).

And if you looked really closely, past the stench and through the maggots, you could make out the stratified squamous epithelium with the goblet cells?

One of the more dangerous things I've noted about road kill is the hawks that feed on it and delay their departure from their corpse du jour until the very last minute. I've brushed several now. It is only a matter of time until I end up wearing one.

Yep had that one. If I hadn't ducked, I would have given it a Glasgow Kiss that nether of us would have enjoyed.

Good on ya for stoppinmg to move the poor wee goat.... sure its dead... but who ever hit it should have stopped and moved it to the side of the road.
I am sure that it written in the road code somewhere that you have to stop and move the said animal if you hit it.

I saw a dead duck ahead of me on the road once and all the cars were running over it.... so I stopped and moved it... as its life long mate was hanging around in the middle of the road trying to be with it... Once I moved it the duck with a stick that I found it mate went over to be with its dead mate....to mourn.... ducks have feeling's too...

It's funny how these two acts appear codependent...
