Wellington to Auckland Hornet trip completed!! :)

    Hello all,
So, deliberation over, i flew down to Welly on Saturday mornin to check out a few of the bikes at Welly Motorcycles and after riding a Black 2006 250 Hornet with 5800km's on it i decided to take the plunge and buy it!

As well as the bike i need all the get up as well so got Rev-It jacket, trousers, boots and gloves and a Shoei helment.

Overall the experience was amazing, riding up through the nice twists and turns of just before and after the desert road was great, no cars on the road and heaps of room and time for me to learn how the bike reacted.

Beautiful weather all the way up until Papakura when it started to piss down, this was the worst part as the motorway jammed up and i didn't exactly feel overly confident surrounded by angry car drivers switching lanes all over the place, but made it through all the same.

I set of from Welly at about 2:30 on the Saturday, mildly shitting myself about getting straight onto a motorway and heading north. It started off fantastically with the guy out the front of the shop waving me off and me pulling away and stalling......

But once on the road i just took it real easy and was cruising along. i made it up to Bulls on the first day, not too far, but by that time it was getting dark and i'd had my fill for that day.

Second day was from Bulls all the way to Auckland with plenty of breaks in between to stretch my legs and back as i was carrying a heavy back pack (not fun).

All car drivers on my trip seemed considerate and no one up my arse too much.

My ass is pretty sore today and thats not from the locals in Bulls, so i think I'll need a few more long trips to get my legs used to the riding position for long periods of time and to stop my ass from going numb!

Dam it, i've got to get back to work, but i'll continue and edit this later.

    Cheers all!!
