    Ultrasonic cleaning

Who does ultrasonic cleaning? In particular, of carburettors. How expensive is it?

    Thanks in advance.

I think Red Baron had the gear in the w/shop.
(a mate of mine worked there back in 2001-2002)

I'd think most bikes shops would have one. I know Henderson Motorcycles does.

We run an ultrasonic cleaner to finish FDM parts [don't ask].....anyway the solution used is a mild caustic solution heated to 60 degrees...works a treat on just about any part.
Give us a PM bro'...sure I can help you out!

Oh. Ah. um. Caustic. Carbs. Zinc alloys. Uh, tread cautiously there.

I used to use the ultrasonic bath in my injector cleaner to clean carbs.I used straight windscreen cleaner, which was what was recommended for for the machine. Not that great - soak for a few hours in a warm water based cleaner of some sort is just as good. Then finish off with carb cleaner....acetone....whatever.Just clean and flash dry.

Father in law was a clock maker. I'm sure he had IPA in his ultrsonic cleaner. I'd just hit it with a can of brakeclean and maybe a toothbrush myself.

Well, seeing as I lost the auction there's no need now. I can get a brand-new Keihin CR33 (better carb) for less money, and I won't have to fiddle around with cleaning it either.

Thanks for the advice though guys, appreciate it as always.
