    Five bikers make my day.

Aaah the serenity. Lovely day in Raetihi, off to do some chores, 'hello - five bikes parked up opposite the cafe'. Chores can wait, wander down for a perve and I couldn't believe it - four out of five were my dream bikes that I'd have if I won a lottery for which I never buy tickets.

I mean, five bikes is quite common but these bikes were special.
    BMWRT 1100
    Suzuki DR 650
    Triumph Tiger
    Suzuki Boulevard C50

and a Goldwing (not one of my dream bikes but beautiful to behold anyway).

And the riders were friendly and chatty and nice too.

    Life is good.

Regardless of the bikes, it's always nice to see a group of desireable bikes. Especially nice when they park up on your turf and the owners are present to chew their ears
If I ever visit Raetihi I'll be sure to park my Duke in front of your office, Lucy.

Well it was just the variety, when I first started getting interested in bikes the cruisers looked comfy and nice low seat height. And the Soozies were/are kind of affordable.

nothing wrong with different tastes in bikes, each to their own, a mate will soon have a rather strange collection too - Kawasaki Vulcan 2litre, Gilera Nexus 500 scooter(hotted up) Guzzi Stelvio and MV Brutale 1078RR , just needs a dirtybike now

I think the other thing that made it a lovely spectacle was the owners all seemed to be so friendly and relaxed, and their bikes were all so well taken care of. I think some were carrying on, and the others had just accompanied them from Wanganui for the ride, and were heading back down.
