Lake Sumner this Sunday? 9th march

Just got my bike back from a service so does anyone fancy riding out to Lake Sumner and back this sunday?

Hopefully I can get the combination for the gate tomorrow.

ummm arrr, at this stage of the game I think I'll have to say... ok, yes, count me in and be good if you do get the gate combination as I haven't done the little bit that's beyond yet myself.

4x4 book says the track ends 8.8km past the gate at a swing bridge, do not drive across the river. Return to Hawarden.

I guess one should ask what time you want to depart and where from?
Do we get off the highway at Amberly (or before), go via Mound Rd, Ram Paddock Road,Pyrimad Valley?

Sorry for the short notice, I only got a call at 6pm to say the bike was ready.

How about 9.30 am at the Mobil garage in Amberley? That should give those who live in town time to get up and out!

Oh and I would prefer to go 'the back way' (pyramid valley etc) there thanks for the heads up on that one Transalper.

I was going to try the route by myself but it's not a good idea to ride alone...

    Hey fella's,

I reckon I could drag myself away from my hectic Sunday T.V. schedule, and come for a ride. Sounds like a good wee ride!

Damn the DOC office is shut until Monday and I'm not sure how to gain the combination to the gate at Loch Katrine - ANYONE KNOW IT???

I'm keen to just ride up to the gate and back anyway, never know we might meet someone with the combination there (even one of those 4x4 types!) - thinking positive here...! :@

    - so the ride is still on.

Was your bike in at DAS peachy? You didn't happen to see a partly dismantled DR650 motor in there did you?

Wonder if El Scoot would get angry if I "borrowed" his bike before he drags himself out of bed

Have a good one guys and TA - make sure that GPS is cranking

Don't get too strung up about the gate combination - I was up there a couple of weeks ago and the fence is down just up the bank from the gate. Just ride around and enjoy. The river looks shallow by the swing bridge, but you'll get a surprise if you try to cross. My advice is to stay on the correct side. Have fun.

'Liberate' El Scoot's bike as any man who has time for TV obviously dosen't have enough projects on the go!!!

Shame you cant make it Ryan, it was your site that pointed it out to me (still learning the routes) and what a great site it is - welldone again...

I did pick the bike up from DAS but no i didn't see yours - try ringing Lynton as he said he was going to be working late tonight and you never know?

See you all in the morning, and thanks for the access hint Racing Dave.

I've hear the story - I want to see the evidence. I hear there is a cool pic of some water shooting from a spark plug hole?????
