Getting caught in the "cross fire" when there are disagreements going on off the site.

Has happened to me at least 3 times in 6 months...........truely amazing.

I don't get it. The world and your life is what YOU make of it.
Despite what some people seem to think that includes KB.
If KB is boring and basicly about shit fights then dont enter the shit fights.
I know its repeating an old saying but its like a one handed clap. Cant hear a darn thing if nobody reacts to it.

On a personal note KB has given me so much genuine Joy over the years.
    Highlights for me are
Being encouraged to go back racing after a (very) long sabattical
Seeing so many KBers having fun at the KB track days.
Learning stuff of REAL meaning to my life.
Being able to give back to other bikers some of what I've learned.
Watching novice riders get better and better at their riding.

MOST IMPORTANT --Ive met some bloody wonderful people I"m happy to call my freinds
Shit theres so much positive here ya just gotta see through the crap

Maybe KB could be split into two streams, that would make two intelligent motorcycle forums, and thus the general interest of each contributor would increase by association. No, not really.

I've only been on here a couple of years....well more like one really, as I pretty much only slut around KB when I'm away at work half the time....and even in that time there has been a noticeable change of tone. It's like a "bring a box o' beer" backyard party has slowly but surely morphed into a school wine and cheese evening.

Sure the fisticuffs, drunkenness and antisocial behaviour won't be missed by most but the way the ties are a little too tight and the skirts a little too far below the knee is almost as offensive. It's reminds me of that guy (McMurphy) off One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest where he starts off all cocky and brash and full of life but ends up a pale imitation of himself.

Aaaah, who the fuck knows, maybe it's me that's changed, but I reckon we need the people from the extremities of the bell curve to bring some colour back to KB. Not just from a superficial entertainment point of view but to present opposing viewpoints, build crazy machines, do/say the things we thought nobody would/should ever say or do. It challenges us, and makes us re-examine ourselves and the world we live in. But then not everyone wants to listen and/or learn, they'd rather just talk the same old rhetoric, just a bit louder in the face of a challenge. You know the type: "I'm a Labour/National supporter and I'll always be a Labour/National supporter" rather than examining the issues and voting accordingly.

I dunno, we seem to be more increasingly comprised of people and views from the centre of the bell curve whilst the people from the extremities are disappearing. There doesn't seem to be much to challenge people and/or make them think at all, let alone think outside the box.

    Bring back the lunatic fringe!

    Perceptive. And true.

Invariably, the middle of the bell curve hates and fears the extremities.

Rich smug and priggish, middle class NZ, having acquired a motorcycle as the latest fashion accesory , is swelling the ranks of the middle of KB's bell curve and driving out the extremities.

KB has become boring because now it reflects that middle of the bell curve. And those middle curvers are boring people. Boring people, boring site.

Phew, at least you can't possibly be complaining about me; my bike's scratched up and dirty and I've spent all my money on bitches and booze.

I reckon this place is awesome, though. There's always someone hanging around ready to buy the last bike I rooted, and there's always someone hanging around ready to, er, be rooted...

I would like to put forward that the middle of the bell curve also encompasses those of narrow mind and mediocre sense of humour too. Recently I have been surprised just how some members here relate to posts they read. I have even had some one red rep me for a comment I used in jest on a thread (used the p/t) heads up and it still was not acceptable. Other people found it funny I have to say.

The lengths some people will go to to denegrate and undermine others has certainly surprised me too of recent weeks.

I come on here to catch up with what my mates are up to, to ask for advice if I need it. To have my "opinionated" say if I am moved to do so, and to occasionally pull the piss.

    Totally agree Mom.
I like to come here for fun and information and to share and talk shit with my mates, occasionally I say things that some may find a bit "off", but hey, whatever, I thought it was funny or valuable.
Always the way, you get some people who say "be your own person and if others don't like it, screw them" and then if you do that you get others saying "My god you're weird, stupid, talk utter shite" etc. You can't farkin win!!!
