    Hyosung GT250R - "race bike"

Wasn't aware they were so hardcore... maybe I should buy one to start my race career on?

"Ready to race, ready to ride. The GT250R is a full size race tuned bike with looks to match. Fully equipped with rollerized V-Twin high output DOHC 8 valve engine, race tuned suspension including inverted forks and gas charged shock absorber, huge brakes, stunning aerodynamics, complimented by digital instruments and adjustable ride position. Whether you're starting a race career, riding for fun or just getting around, the GT250R is ready to take you where ever you want to go.
Dual lens headlamp and aerodynamic fairing are stylish and functional. A tinted windscreen is available as an optional extra. Race position handlebars and adjustable footrest positions give the rider flexibility to tailor the ride position to rider preference."

The forks may be "upside down" but they have no discernable damping. Which is OK as they perfectly match the rear shock.

Having high performance camshafts might be good as well, as the stock ones snap occassionally.

The only reason they get away with selling these piles of crap is that the typical buyer is a young noob and knows no better. Buying decisions are based purely on cosmetics and on how they may possibly be perceived by their equally knowledgeless mates.

Bullshit. Another reason they buy them is because they like how they look and feel.

Marketing something as it is not is false advertising?

There is nothing 'race' about a hyosung, except perhaps it's burgled asthetics. I've seen a hyosung with over 150g of weights on the rear wheel just to get it to 'balance'... doesn't seem very race to me!

AND..... If she's tough enough to ride then she shouldnt care. I rode a GN for awhile, people mock them all the time but you dont see sales going down!

The point of the thread is about a 250 Hyosung RACE bike. You gotta see the funny side in that!

if you're dress sense was a bit 'gay' and i was nice enough to point it out to you, wouldnt rather that i actually told you so you knew, or would you prefer that everyone just went about their business thinking you were actually gay?

You don't think so ?? Watch the look on a L-Platers face after they have just rode their new GT250R home and polished it, and I DARE you to say that to their face.

    THINK before you speak.

i wouldnt call them gay, but if they honestly thought it was a 'race' bike, i'd sit them down with a nice cold beer and congradulate them on their new acquisition, but point out the subtle differences between their GT250R and a 'race' bike. I've ridden with hyobags many a time, and they dont handle too badly, but they are no race bike.

Labeling them as a piece of shite is a bit harsh I feel. There's tonnes of them out there and I've not heard alot of horror stories. They're a budget built bike for a budget inspired market, nothing wrong with that.

However, marketing them as a race bike for the road is probably a more than a little misleading.
