No worries and I hope its all sorted smoothly now. I see the offender was trying to weasel out and in this day and age its no surprise to me. At least you'll know for sure what to do in future if it ever happens again.

Alright.. this guy's either an utter idiot or he's trying to make me just give up and think it's too much effort.

I've been trying to ring him all weekend to offer him a deal to stay out of court but he's been avoding my calls.. so I dropped him a text and surprised surprise I get a reply in about a minute. This is what he and I said word for word, letter for letter, and i'll let you guys make your own opinions.

Me: Hey mate, i've tried to call but haven't answered. I got the quote for the bike and it's a write off, about 4.5 grand. I'm willing to offer you what I paid for it which is 3.5 grand. But if you turn that down i'm prepared to take you to court for the full damages. I have witnesses and the police have placed you at fault. Its up to you. If you don't respond by the end of tommorow i'll fill in the forms and assume you've turned down my offer.
