and if that doesn't work. Dance a rain dance for a solid ten minutes, and then wait for it to fall out of the sky and into your hand. Trust me the way these things work is you'll only find the originals once you've either jammed a screwdriver in the ignition or put replacement barrels in. Happened to me.

i stoped in the local suzuki dealer and while there i asked him

If it was an nz new rf400, go in with your vin number, and if the dealer was any good he would have record the key code on the form he would have returned to suzuki.

And if they did that they, suzuki can get a new key made to match that code, with out taking the barrel out of key,

    Smile lOCKSMITH

Good Avise all round mate eh.

I lost the only key to my number bike my Gorgeous Vespa a couple of weeks ago.

Took the barrel from it and took it to the locksmith dude, who took it out the back and came back with a new key cut to match the barrel......all very interesting.......

Then 2 days later, was on my way to the gym and shook my tracksuit trousers and there within was my vespa key.

I now have the original and 3 spares.:spudbooge

I was thinking about getting one cut a few weeks back, and now as if by magic I don't have to Doh

When you do go to get a spare cut, get 2. I always have 2, one for at home and I always have the other spare in one of the small pockets in my jacket just in case I'm away from home when I lose my key wallet.

You can take the top clamp with ignition barrel to a good locksmith and it should have a code they can put into the computer and it will spit out the appropriate key. Expect to pay about $20. If the steering lock is on you will pretty much have to remove the forks to get the top clamp off. If the steering lock is not on it should be easy to remove the top clamp.
