Don't need help as much, just reassurance

    Hey guys/girls.
    I've spotted me a slightly used CBR 250 mc22. (only 40hp after '92, right?)
Now, I really want it, as you'd expect. Just... Can someone hold my hand
Slightly used, 50,000k's, buynow at 4.5k. The tacho's a little more tired than I am comfortable with, but New world wages only pay so many hundred a week and hey, it's my first REAL bike.
Could those with a keen eye give me a bit of reassurance? Please XD

I try to not ask tooo many questions =)

Thanks people. I'm sure it'll make my mothers day special. Despite the dynabolt-to-garage-floor threats. She loves me

get a decent 400 for that much.

then for $27 you write in (provided you have not tooooo many fines(eg none)) and get a exepmtion to ride it.

    Dispensation.
I wouldn't get your hopes up if your only 17. Unless your 8 feet tall.

Yeah man do the 400 thing and don't support the (stupidly) inflated 250 market... If you're reasonably confident on a bike you'll be glad you did it three months down the track.

I totally agree, it's outrageous. It is, however, business. You can't help but need what they have, and they have it. VIOLA!
Let me get this straight. I, Chris, being 17 and do not 'currently' hold a learners (Owning a bike will get me motivated. A lot =)), can apply for this magical written free-ticket-to-400cc form thingy?

My second bike, and first road-bike, was a 400. I rode that for around 6 months on my learners with no issues whatsoever (without dispensation).

If you keep outta trouble and save your hooning for the right places...
Insurance is the main deal, I mean if your going to spend a decent amount of cash, play the 250 game, but hey with 2-2.5k worth of 400, keep it locked up at night, don't park it anywhere stupid and ride it like you know you don't have insurance...

Your height (and possibly weight?) might allow you the dispo anway? If you're of a decent build a 250 might be kinda tight? Unless you get a Hyobag, but don't do that...

I'll see how 250 goes for starters =)
Never had a go on a roadie, of any sorts so i'll see how it fits up, and how fast the want for more speed appears :P
    Cheers!
