we get heaps of stuff off e-bay. a 5kg box of around 300mm square costs about US$30 on UPS - here in 7 days. for a big box of BMX bits, including 20" wheels, it cost US$50 from florida - on my door step in 8 days.

I know, I paid $25 US for a big box containing a RHS upper fairing panel and $45 US for a shoe box sized headlight unit out of Canada. It was the first item I bought on ebay, wasnt till I bought a few after that thought I got ripped on freight charge, but have bought other stuff outa Canada and freight seems to be twice as much, try to buy from US locations now, but Canadians are more willing to ship to NZ, alot of Americans cant be bothered and will only sell in USA.
newzealnd couries are not to bad but its be abit for a tank cos of size![]()

Justforexample: Mrs SD got side chrome for '62 Fairlane sent from Texas and it cost $20 US in a box that was an ex-steel bed frame container. About 1.5 metres long and about 100 X 100 square.

What kind of aprts do you need for this bike exactly ??Originally Posted by pete376403
I think possibly one big issue is that its a FUEL tank. the airfreigh folks get a pit twitchy about anything that has contained fuel before.

Heh heh... you could always stuff it full of something that grows abundantly in NZ to offset the cost of the shipping when it arrives...

Nothing in particular right now, but if there were good cosmetic bits - fairing (although thats huge and would cost a mint to ship) stock mufflers and pipes. A seat. Stuff like that would get me interesed. If youv'e never seen one its a big ol' POS that looks like this.Originally Posted by Amarzzata

Hummm dont want to dissapoint you, but muflers and seats are the first things that get bad on a bike...specialy old ones like this !!!
i'll try to look but i dont think i'll find anything And i think it would cost less to have them brand new than shipping these old parts to you !!
The problem i got with the VTZ fuel tank, is that this model was never sold in north america....so i have to buy it new from the far east and still pay huge amount of shipping or buy it cheap and pay huge amount of shiping !! The 2nd option is by far cheaper...so i'll stick with it !
OK thats cool. If I'm out that way tomorrow I'll call in at B'n'B and have a good look at the tank, make sure its not rusty inside and so on, get an idea of the size and make some enquiries about freight over to you.
