That surface is the shizzle. It's enough to get you out of bed early to beat the traffic.

I'll be down in a month's time to 'ave a go.

Wonder if it'll hold up that long?

Had two looks at the new surface this weekend (by people-mover) and it looks friggin mint. Will chat to the case-manager on Tues about pushing my schedule along a bit quicker, it looks friggin awesome.

It's amazing what a little bitumen can mean to so many.

Of course they had to lay it down the week before I shifted out of Wellington, bastards!

Crikey so you've left town - was good riding with you while you were here - now what, you'll be doing that Coro loop I suppose.
    Cheers

Get it the right way around.
Actually that hill looked kinda "civilised" compared to the Taka's. I'm looking forward to it already.

It's a better ride in the other direction, coming back up from Coromandel town.

    Rimutaka Hill road video

Have to agree that Rimutaka Hill road is mint now - except for the dodgy parts nearer the top but I can live with that. Went up on Saturday with a camera mounted - check out the recorded footage here if you want (suggest you choose "watch in high quality"):

The bits near the top won't see much done until the Muldoons Corner works are completed.
