Lame excuses for getting off tickets

I replied to a thread with this story but thought well why not start a thread with stories of how some of us have gotten away with it.. Lame excuses reason given and successes.

    So I will start,,
When I was 16, long time ago I got pulled up on my XL100 for exceeding 50kms,, I said str8 away to the officer the biker had been running rough and I had to run it at higher revs to keep it going, on the way home of course. I said I would show him,, having flicked off a concealed kill switch I kicked and kicked using heaps of throttle of course, then pretended to fiddle with carb, putting kill switch on and hey presto it starts and runs rough as a pig, flooded of course, he noted it on my ticket, wrote in and got off... lol

Look forward to hear any interesting stories that worked, share them around.

A while back, I was hooning around the basin reserve on a VF750, I heard a cop siren so shot up a couple side streets and parked between a couple cars.

The cop screeched up blocking me in, got out of his car screaming his head off at how I am a temporary kiwi. He got within an inch of my face and went apeshit, I honestly thought he was gonna smash my head in. After about five minutes of abusing me, he yelled he had neither the time or the inclination for the likes of me, got back in his car and fucked off.

I stayed there and had a smoke, and pondered what had transpired, to this day I dunno what the hell made him leave, I think perhaps he realised he was gonna hit me and I aint worth his job.

Was that because you were riding a Honda mate?

I got stopped last night on SH1. Told the cop I passed the car on the inside cause it was going too slow, and was hogging the centreline.

    He was fine with that.

I have been lucky quite a few times, each time I got away was because the police officer decided NOT to write out a ticket......eventhough he most certainly would have been entitled to.......

I got pulled by a cop on a bike in the Hutt and the dude was just checkin me out. I had snuck to the garage to get fuel on a quiet Sunday and didnt expect to see a cop. I got a ticket for not being able to present a licence on demand and he told me if i presented it to the Hutt cop shop in 7 days id get off it.
Well now i was a little bit clever then cause i went to the Hutt cop shop and sat my licence on the next Wed and thankfully got it . Then the next day i went to present my licence at a differant time of day to get other than the staff that gave me a licence the day before.
I got a letter saying that i had complied to produce my licence within time so all was forgiven , no further action taken.
Praise be they didnt have computors in them days aye.
Council cops , pffttt dicks. They used to ride CB360s in them days so my 400/4 was always too fast for them .

ok this will sound like bullshit but I had just brought a MK5 cortina, and wanted to see how fast it would go...... and on the straights between ngatea and paeroa I had it up to 150.......and was catching upto another car.....now just as I started slowing I saw a cop car.....shiiiit!!!!! slowed down and of course he turned around and pulled me over, and couldn't stop telling me how lucky I was that because of the car in front of me he couldn't prove who was doing that speed! My excuse was I was trying to get my radio to go and didn't notice what speed I was doing......and he just told me to pull my head in, and that i was a lucky SOB!....so it wasn't the excuse but the car in front I guess......

When I was young and stoopid,as opposed to old and stoopid,I overtook a suzi 380 smoker with it's headlight on,rare then.It was the natural law,500 overtakes 380 init.So I'm winding it up a bit, cause I'm late for work and this upstart small capacity suzi's headlight is glaring large in my,oh so shite mirrors.Cheeky beggar,so I wind it up some more teach the kid a lesson.

It was odd that this crappy Suzi wasn't falling back, odder still when he put blue and red lights on and started nee naring. mystified I pulled over and turned round to see a very nice copper on a very nice Norton.

"Wheres the fuggin fire" says he, as the Suzuki smokes it's way gently by .I was racing that twat there, was what I wanted to say what I actually said was,I dont know yet. I showed him my licence as requested in my nice fire brigade wallet and explained,I was late for my shift at the fire station, hence the speed and I wouldn't know where the fire was till I got there.Thats kinda funny isn't it mr nice policeman sir.

Hardy fugging ha, piss off I know your bike now and if I see ya again I'll throw the book at ya. I wasn't worried, if I didn't see his bloomin great bike I'm hardly gonna notice a book being thrown at me eh.

oh and I sold my bike 2 days later anyway. musta done me some good cause I don't speed anymore.
    Oh bugger

Well I reckon the best way to go is to pull over straight away and not try to bullsh!t your way out of it. Unless your speed was stupidly fast they'll probably be reasonable. At least, that's what my own experience has shown.
My bike doesn't leak oil; it marks its territory.
