That's a damn fine deal folks. Sure, it's a bit slow, but that can be rectified and it'll still be cheap ride. No need to work to much on the suspension and brakes, they are quite good as they are.

that's a bargain, always happens when I got no money, wait a moment I never have any money, sucks being poor.
Why would you ride that long and that gnarly stuff if you don't have to, Its what we do, we love it.

But don't the ktms need a lot more maintenance? don't want to race one just want a bit of fun. Bring on the full licence. Jealous of the learners in the future where this bike will be eligible

How easy is it to change the drz to go on the dirt. Say if you had rims with knobblys on could you easily change to go offroad?

I put dual-purpose tyres on my SM. I put an Avon Distanzia on the rear and a Pirelli MT60R on the front. 17" wheels remember. They were good for well formed gravel roads and not so good gravel roads. Proper off road... Maybe not. 17" front lacks stability on deeper gravel.

Changing the rims, if you had the right axle, wouldn't be hard. But would the brake line up? The SM has a different front brake from the regular DR-Z. Which is a good thing on the road.

Stevo in ChCh has a Drz, and it sounds like quite a major to go from the offroad rims to the motard rims. Must say I am tempted to buy one at that price....

Dam knew it was to good to be true oh well. you read in some motard forums the guys who have these also have r1s, gsxrs etc and say this is by far their favourite bike even only though its 400cc. Amazing.
