If so, you should have a look at this thread - especially the photos that I finally managed to post. If you have a Givi top box - especially on a ST1300 - it might be worth checking the condition of the mounting plate which the latch plate is bolted to. Or in my case, is no longer bolted to.

Yes I agree.
The only issue I am drawing attention to is the way the latching plate fits to the mounting plate - usually through only two bolts. They just need to be checked from time to time to make sure they are still secure.
