Gis a guy a hand please...

This Jan i'm rebuilding our bathroom, which is currently not a place where my partner wants to hang out (hence the asap factor). Taking a few weeks off work to do it, and i figure when i'm done i'll need a break. So i'm planning a trip back to the ol stompin grounds. Hamiltron.

    Here's my plan.
Thursday 17th: Chch to Welly, possibly via inland scenic route past Lyford then straight up to the ferry. * May need a place to stop that night *
Friday 18th: Welly to gisborne, the fastest / niceest way to get there. Want to stop in as Esk valley winery for lunchies ( ) then to wairoa and to Gissy * May need a place to stop that night *
Saturday 19th: Gissy to Hammy. Via Tauranga / the mount, waihi...
Sunday 20th: Hammy to Paeroa for Street Race!

After that i may take a qik cruise up to AKLD for a flying visit, then back down to Welly * May need a place to stop that night (whateva night it is) *

Is that a realistic itinerary at a semi relaxed pace (particularly the 18th / 19th)?

What's the road like from Gissy to Opotiki? I know from wairoa to gissy its' quite tight but really bloody nice!

Anybody able to put a bed under me for the dates / places mentioned? It may be just me. It may be me and the partner IF she gets her knee seen to. I don't wanna carry a tent! I'll provide the beers...

    Cheers ears!

Wgtn - Napier about 4 hours via Wairarapa with a break (suggest BootsnBraces Woodville - top people there). Napier- Gissy about 2 1/2 hours if u r getting tired by now. Don't know the rest of it. Hope that helps
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

Good thanks Posh, Gonna PM some people about staying in Welly for a night, but Gissy is sorted. Ferry is booked. Fingers are crossed. If it's weather like today we'll be STOKED!

Have been wanting to show the SexyVeeBabetm around parts of NZ she's never been for a while now (typical, she left town b4 she saw the country).

Only thing we're missing is a sheepskin seat for the missus. But we have a lead on a local source...
