Mikkel is currently heading to Welly and is somewhere near Pahiatua. He has had what seems to be a fuel issue, which stopped the bike. It is going again, but without knowing the reason why, if it re-occurs can someone in that general area help him??

It's all good. Just got back home about 30 mins ago. A nice hot shower and some clean clothes and I'm feeling almost civilised again.
The bike has behaved itself the rest of the trip - I'm guessing it was a temporary clogging of the fuel tap and/or inline fuel filter. Will look into it one of these days...
It was raining as I arrived in Picton and I got slightly damp on the short trip to Blenheim. Fortunately the situation had sorted itself and I rode the rest of the way in a nice and balmy Nor'wester.
... it was a long trip from Napier to Wellington though I have to admit. I really enjoyed my breakfast - fish and chips on the ferry around 6 pm

Maybe check for water in the fuel. Has happened to me. Drain tank into a bucket and you'll see the water at the bottom if it is present. Can reuse fuel just not the watery bit of course.

Yeah, that's worth bearing in mind when I'll drain the tank eventually anyway. The fuel tap is dodgy - it will let gas through even when not set on prime and AFAIK it isn't supposed to do that - so I'm thinking that I'll replace it - although they are rather dear...

Oh the joys of ancient overpriced 250 learner bikes eh? Drain the tank sooner rather than later. No time like the present. Ring your local bike shop and ask if whites powersports do a fuel tap repair kit for your bike. Rust in your tank means there is moisture in there. Don't be afraid of maintenance, your riding buddies will love you for it.

Well, I was beginning to doubt that mine knew that for a second there. Being stranded a bit south of Woodville on a sunday with a sneaky headache lurking in the background wouldn't have been a lot of fun
But she's a good girl! She might be an old and over-priced 250 - but I love that bike just the same. I couldn't have gotten a better learners bike - I'm absolutely positive on this.
Very good I had to spend the night in Blenheim too - much better riding weather today.
