Yep - bascially WOF guy stated that due to it being structural if the weld covers one end to the other it will probably fail WOF again in the retest. Looking at it i have to agree with him a little.
All the wreckers came up nil so it looks like im buying a new one.

Have you tried Victorian Motorcycle Wreckers?
They have a good range and good delivery times.

Sorry, no I don't know what they charge for postage.
I know a several of the guys on the FZ1OA forum use and recommend them. Hoping to not have occasion to find out what they charge for postage.

ummm welds are pretty strong (unless you weigh about half a ton) and if done right you can't actually see the weld. Been there fixed this..
Lump lingered last in line for brains,
And the ones she got were sort of rotten and insane...

Yeh usually i would give this a crack (excuse the pun) - but this time since it happened at the vtnz i figure its too dodgy to go for a retest with "Broken bracket" on the wof form - well previous experience has told me the get a bit pedantic about it.
Its working out just over $100 to get the part from Aus so its not too bad.
If i had a lurvly TIG sitting in the garage however...... Lets say the bike would be a little different by now.

You should have no problem with a weld and getting a WOF. As long as it holds your weight they'd have no good reason to fail it.
