    Question Need advice on old school bike build

    i own a Triumph 150v 750cc speed triple in parts and being reconditioned from ground up what should i do to make it not leak and be more reliable so i dont have to tighten up bolts when i stop and all that carry on that i get told by triumph owners lol its been blue printer and balenced

    The leaks were mainly caused by ignorance and abuse,and by design - there were not many vehicles designed in the fifties and sixties that didn't leak oil,it wasn't considered a problem back then.Attack a few mating surfaces with a screwdriver,and try to seal them with runny shellac which was used as a gasket sealer back then - and the oil will run out.

    So make sure your mating surfaces are PERFECT and use a quality sealant such as Three Bond,not bright orange silicone.Use new bolts with self locking nuts,use washers where appropriate and locktite where needed.Fit an electronic ignition and new carbs.That should sort it.
