My RZ350 uses about the same if not more petrol than my corolla. It doesn't change my decision to ride it though.

Amazing! I would save 3p plus the 4p supermarket discount every time!
Interesting to note on the NEWS tonight, that BP and Shell each made in the region of 9.5 billion dollars profit last year.
I for one will shop around for fuel prices. The less in their pocket and more in mine, is a good thing.

BP 95/96 - $1.939
Caltex 95/96 - $1.889 (cheapest ATM)
Difference = $0.05
Difference filling 17 L tank = $0.85
"Shopping around" to save 85c? Weak. You'll probably spend 85c getting to your next cheapest petrol station

Can't say I have ever noticed any difference in "service" level between them. Personally, I prefer Mobil because it has eft-pos at the pump. And I generally avoid buying anything other than petrol at gas stations; everything else is way too expensive.
Agree. Sort of... You'll only waste that 85 cents if you go out of your way to find cheaper gas. It's more a matter of keeping an eye on them, and when you know that brand X is 5c/l more than brand Y, and there is a brand Y outlet 200 metres down the road, then that is where one would tend to go. Except that the reality just doesn't seem to back that up.
Funny old world...
ACC - It's where the Enron accountants all went.

i filled the bike at gull yesterday. 95 octane: $188.9/liter. got 5.50liters, cost $10.40. same fill at work would have cost about $16 or more.
aside from some rude diesel customer [decided he wouldnt wait for me to move, and would stand in the tiny gap left between the bike and his truck to take his cap off, therefore getting whacked by my bike...] an all round good experience, and i will be going back, as its closer for me to go there.

Actually that's how much Royal Dutch Shell made in the last three months.
In 2007 the RDS group made 31.331 billion USD of profits on a turnover of 355.782 billion USD .
Whereas BP made 20.845 billion USD of profits on a turnover of 291.438 billion USD.
These seem like large profits, but you need to consider that oil has only increased in value relatively recently. So the overall profits haven't been that hot when averaged over the last 20 years.
