Wow, it finally happened was doing my second run of the Paekakariki Hill road and along came a old american cage way to big for his side of the road and i sweved to avoid it and ended up binning the poor girl .

Bastard didnt stop!. Bikes a mess and the tank hit a powerpole, bikes at a mates and we're checking it over soon.

I'm fine only a few minor scraps and bruises but i kinda wish it was me instead of the bike .

Bikes you can fix up or replace but it's kinda harder with soft fleshy creatures to repair or replace them.

Damn that road. It a piece of motorcycle heaven but shit it extracts it's pound of flesh ... so glad it wasn't a pound of yours.

Other vehicles are probably the greatest danger on that road. I hug hard left on left handers and never go nearer than halfway to the centreline on rights unless I can see the whole road.

Hope you manage to do some reflection about these events and what you could have done to keep it all rubber side down. Don't forget when you are back on your ride to go back and ride that same bit through no hay problema!

Dont be stupid mate, a broken bike might hold you up for a bit while you repair or replace it, but if you hit a pole I guarantee you'd be outta the game for much longer, maybe even for good.

Glad to hear you're on the mend mate and not too badly cut up. I'm the guy on the copper SV1000s that stopped a couple of mins after you came off.

As I said at the time, bikes can always be replaced, you can't! Well done on avoiding the drop down the bank though eh! That could have made the whole thing a bit more serious!

That's a cool piece of roads, but locals like it as much as bikers do, so it's sometimes a bit hot on the road.

As everyone else said, it's less painful to bolt together bits of bike than bits of bones.
