    Yuuccckkk!!!!

Had to work yesterday morning. Got home, was overcast and I thought I wouldn't bother going for a quick ride. Except I hadn't been on the bike since the Coro loop and was itching for a quick run.

I knew Sunday was going to be crap so if I was going to do it, had to be a "quickee" as me and the missus were heading out.

Man it was cold all of a sudden even with my thermals under my leathers.
Pootling along just before Clevedon after coming off monument road after a nice run through the twisties and a blackbird decided it had enough off life and dive bombed me when I was sitting on about 160kmh.

What is it with birds and me lately?

Well, it wasn't pretty. Smashed straight into the left upper side off my headlamp and promptly disintegrated. Feathers and lots of innards spread over my headlamp, tacho and speedo, blasted there way between the upper fork legs, splattered the tank, my leathers and helmet. EEEwwww!!!

Didn't smell very user friendly either.

Stopped at Clevedon shell and used the brush and water to clean myself, my helmett, leathers, gloves and then wash off most of the meaty bits and feathers out of the controls and crevices.

Need a good cleanup on the bike sometime this week. Didn't realise blackbirds held as much innards as a large pig.
    Really pleased pigs don't fly.
If the destination is more important than the journey you aint a biker.

Crazy. I've had plenty of close calls but never actually hit a bird. Doesn't sound like much fun.

Gor'blimey guv'nor, some birds just can't take no fer an answer eh? Glad to hear all you had to do was clean some bits n'guts outta your crevices and spruce the ride back up again!

Yep, gotta watch out for fowl play from the local avians, all birds of a feather and they do like to make you say flock it when they flit across! Maybe next time put a bird on a wire to decoy the next kamikaze?

Ah well better stop sticking my sticky beak into things and just snooze back into a nice nest of blankets!

make sure you get all traces of bird off ya bike, they have a tendency to stink like hell in a few days if you leave it too long.

I once clocked a seagull with my helmet at 80km.

It was like taking a punch in the head.

I once saw a guy at a petrol station who had a bird wedged in between two parts of his fairing from the inside! just the head and one wing was hanging out, must have been going pretty quick for the bird to get sucked into the fairing and then make it halfway out a gab about 4mm wide! lol. Lucky you came out of it better than the bird, the only time I've ever been hit was when I was about 11 cruising down 90 mile beach I got smacked by the biggest seagull I've ever seen in my life! It just came out of nowhere, I got thrown into the ground at around 100k and it just flew away again! was sore for days after that

Don't even think about hitting a pheasant
Guarantee the result will not be pleasant
Heaps of blood and guts all over the show
Espiecally if you aint travelling slow
We're all real glad that pigs don't fly
Hitting a airborne porker would make you more then cry.

It's a simple navigation error dude.poor li'll birdies think there flying into the wide blue beyond, they've just flown into the hard black north of bombays beyond instead.shame it was the front of the bike, they could have flown into the back of beyond.

Sorry mate,I need to get out more. Glad your ok.

I nearly 'headed one over the bar' once on Haywards, but managed to avoid it a la Bullet Time from the Matrix.
It's back..."Political Correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical, liberal minority and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end."

Dont know about navigation, i recon half the bird population are stunt riders in a past life !
Ya see them coming out of bushes and its so obvious they're playin chicken with ya, to an ovation of chirpin in the bush !
Had many try it, most get away with it !
Last one i came across totally underestimated my speed, got himself a kick in the head for his trouble (after the rest of him had tried to pass through the oil cooler)
A girlfriend once asked " Why is it you seem to prefer to race, than spend time with me ?"
The answer was simple ! "I'll prolly get bored with racing too, once i've nailed it !"

    Bowls can wait !
