Cant put a number on the distance - depends who really.
Someone I know very well and a good friend - would not really matter where they are!
Anyone else? Well I guess since there are so many KB'ers I would limit myself to north shore. But really depends on the specific circumstances.

It would depend on 3 things to me.
1.Who it was.
2.How much petrol in my car(it's a tad thirsty)
3.How much money in my pocket(to pay for said petrol)
Otherwise hey I'm always up for a roadtrip.
Distance wouldn't come into it.

I've got miserly tourettes and I don't give a fuck.
I guess for a random person under about 100kms but if it is for sombody i know and trust (and i have money for gass) i would go as far as needed.
what he said ^
depends upon person, location, available funds,
unfortunatly, the reality of help in this situation is not clearcut , will you wont you.
Because of my location, I would be of more assistance as a secure location for a damaged bike to be store for collection from an incident with say 100k north, to say 50k west of here.
A subjective question, with no real solid answers,
To be old and wise, first you must be young and stupid.
Dunno about a kb'er - I don't actually know all that many kb'ers personally, but for my mates - as far as I need to go. That goes for whatever is wrong, broken down bike or otherwise.
For a random kb'er that I didn't really know but who needed help - well, if it's not too far or if it sounds like a good ride to get there, why the hell not. If I've got time etc.

Arguing with an Engineer is like wrestling a pig in mud.
After a while you realise the pig is enjoying it.
Depends entirely on who the KBer is.
And the plural of km is km.
