Rimutakas surface bit dodgy (6 May)

Just been for ride to top of the Takas from Upper Hutt side and the Tractors have been mowing the gorse and have brought a fair bit of clippings and gravel onto the road, pretty much only on the downhill side of road coming back to Upper Hutt. There is an old fulla sweeping but doing a pretty crap job in all.

So take it easy as the cars may have flicked the debri to both sides by now.

Was freezing up there but looked beautiful in both directions.

How was the new Storm on the back Dan?

Should be nicely scrubbed in now after that ride.
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.

    Surface Update

I took it upon myself once more to test the takas out, this time BuckbuckNo1 joined me and we went over to Featherston and back.

    Road Report:

Tractors were trimming from the Featherston side coming up, so again debris on the road including stones and branches and leaves.
The debris from yesterdays effort is still on the road and has blown accross so is on both lanes at present.

Was a heck of alot of cops coming from Featherston side over to UH too so be sensible.

Again was lovely day up there and the temps were far warmer on the Featherston side of the hill.

Every Wednesday morning there is a cop meeting in Masterton so you will see the cops heading into Masterton around 9 AM. Some of the Wgtn Hutt cops must have attended this week so you would have met up with them returning to home base. There are also training sessions, often out near Castlepoint so if you are not aware, and want to thrash your Ducati or other bigshot bike going on the Castelpoint road on a Wednesday, you better have Lady Luck with you.

    Nice pics, Bull.
