Mate, you do realise you are letting your neighbours win now don't you?

You'll need to watch MotoGP a lot with the volume maxed to ensure noone forgets about the local "50km/h road-racer"!

Horrific story. Well written though, thanks for sharing with us.

I have never been in an accident but have been in hospital a few times including cancer treatment. Based on that, plus knowing a few nurses over the years, what I can suggest to you is to pay attention to what the nurses tell you. They know a hell of a lot about how people cope and heal, physically and psychologically. Doctors can be aloof or at least short on advice. And if you can tap into their humour, nurses and even orderlies can be a great source of cutting boredom and remaining positive. I reckon the more you can laugh and get others to laugh, the faster you will heal.

Are you in a room on your own or are there others you can chat with?

Dude.... shocking to read but your sense of humour and positive mindset is an inspiration. I'm sure it will make your recovery that much quicker as well. Bling sent, hey its not much I know, but when you're healed get down to NZ and I'll shout you a cold beer or 10.

Crazy that some people in the States still wont wear helmets huh? Maybe after they see yours they might think about it.

Best of luck with everything, keep us posted on your progress.

    Dave.

    Dude, tough break.
Glad you were able to walk away even if you still aren't out of the woods.
It's been good to get the reality check after such a bad off, it's all too easy to dismiss a bin with bravado and ignore what could have been.

Hmm ... I just got a new Shoei, so I hope it isn't a design fault that caused the visor to pop off?

Heal quick, keep posting and don't let the frustration get you after surviving everything else so far.

Shit mate, what a hell of a story. You seem like you have a good positive attitude. Stay with that man. What can I say? heal quick and may all your ops be as painless as possible and you come out the other side as good as you can possibly be.

Some green bling coming your way

Wow thats intense .. rest assured you're in lots of peoples thoughts right now. I hope the recovery isn't too long and you're not too shocked with the outcome after your bandages come off.

    Get well soon

Amazing reading, thank you for writing it all down and for sharing it with us. The days ahead are going to be a bit of a roller coaster I imagine, as you adjust emotionally and physically. That's gotta be one hell of a shock to the system.

My thoughts are with you as are everyone's here. I don't believe in luck, I'd prefer to think that there's a good reason you survived this crash.

Kia Kaha - stay strong; this to will pass.
