Anyone now anything about "City Honda" who have started advertising for staff for their "Mega Motorcycle Store" opening soon in Palmerston North. Honda has been pretty poorly represented here particularly for road bikes.

Whenever I have been there the showroom was full of Harleys, Buells and Triumphs with the odd Honda fitted in wherever there was a gap. I even wondered wether they were setting up another shop completely for the Hondas. Phil Turnbulls have doubled the size of their shop so thats Suzuki and Yamaha sorted

Decent service or service at all, would be nice....
IMO ANZA's service is non existant unless you have a Buell or Harley (have actually tested this out) and ive only seen them stock vtr's and goldwings.
Whats Wrong with Freedom Honda Phantom ? mind you they seem to stock more ducatis than hondas these days

Agreed. Should be interesting.
Open sundays is very good but their selection of gear is pretty average but it's better than nothing that's for sure.
The selection of new Honda's is piss poor at best.
I'm guessing that the road bike dealership will no longer be at Anza's and they will be down to Harley/Buell and Triumph.
I think Phil Turnbull's should take on a third marque, don't think there is a BMW dealer in Palmy Nth is there?
I bought one of my bikes privately from one of the salesmen and another is a member of the extended family and I still get no service. As i understand it ( and I am sure someone will correct me if I am wrong ) when Freedom Honda started they were a dirt bike/ quad bike dealership i.e. no road bikes as Anza had them but didn't want the off road stuff. they then started importing a lot of second hand jap import bikes but presumably Blue Wing Honda wouldn't give them access to new road bikes. I don't imagine there are going to be three Honda dealers in Palmerston.

remember phil Turnbull was honda a few years ago, they dropped it.
The problem with BMW is there is no money in it, so i found out.
No one wants the brand in Wellington.
You would think all those people with stacks of cash who buy BMW's would spend up large on all the aftermarket bit you can get for them, making BMW a we money spinner
its Crazy Big Al but if your have lesbian fantasies you can read it crazy bi gal if you like!
You got that right! The only time I've had anything remotely like service from them is in the parts department. You can climb all over the Hondas and they won't say boo. Still waiting to hear back about a blackbird they had in there a couple of years ago - salesman has my number...
Also, I'm pretty sure honda has more models than wings, VTR's, VTX's & CBR's...
Parts dept is ok,got myself kitted out ok,was a Sunday and only place open, gear was good value, and service great and bloody helpfull.
Went back to look at buying a pair of pants for other half, started looking at bikes first, not harleys, but a couple of VTRs,absolutely NO acknowledgement, not even a nod from the sales guy in his office facing me but with a customer doing paperwork,he wasn't talking to the client just waiting for him to complete his details.
So after spending $700 or so on jacket, lid, gloves and pants, and having great service to shit service, unless they happen to have a really good deal I doubt I'll buy again there,P.T,and Freedom, and AFC at least smile and acknowledge you. Then again I will use my local guys also.
Only reason Anza got my first sale was I had percieved them to be leader, and were open when I visited on holiday. My local area shops didn't have sizes in stock and although happy to get stock couriered in,I didn't want them to spend on getting gear in that didn't fit.Basically not comfortable them trying to get items and me not buying due to fit problems.
Hello officer put it on my tab
Don't steal the government hates competition.
I would say that both freedom and ANZA will lose their honda franchise.
As for BMW they are no longer in Wellington as they would not be in the shop as Trumph. Something about a war. LOL. As for us BMW owners the closest dealership in at the Mount.
I spent 23 grand at ANZA and was still treated like a chump.
The next time I bought a bike, I bought a Japa....
I've been into Anza many times over the years, and almost without exception have been treated well.
All of the salesmen have spoken or I've had convos with them.
The parts dept have been great, even couriered stuff to me when they did'nt have it in stock and given discount.
Even when I have not been on a bike there its been good.
I'm not a Harley person, or own one, and even have jokingly taken the piss out of Harleys to their salesman in convos.
Sure I have Triumphs, and brought one off them, but even before that it was always good.
The only person that has never spoken and always looks grumpy is the bald old cunt who wanders around looking people up and down.
Think he's the boss.
I can see why HDs seem to be the focus, they take centre stage everywhere there, and especially the Hondas seem an after thought.
Even the Buells seem pushed aside a bit.
