    eek Am I bi-cycual??

I am wondering now just how many people out there ride both motorbikes and scooters. Must admit I've always had a "thing" for motorbikes, and scooters just never featured on my interest-radar.
Currently I'm helping run in my husbands new 650 Burgman and my prejudices are starting to fall away. Help!!! I never thought I'd see the day when I'd ever admit to having inklings of attraction for a scooter; but I took it to school today out at Pukekohe and I think it's trying to seduce me away from my Bandit. Yikes!
So, how many of you "swing both ways" - bikes that is.... or are the majority either one or the other i.e. wouldn't be seen dead on a scoot (even a big one)/motorbike (if you're a scooter rider)?

Err.. i've got a couple motorbikes and a couple of scooters. I only bought the scooters cause they had something particularly interesting about them. (one's a *manual* 125 that rips at pretty fast pace).

I don't really like riding them but recently have been forced to! Heaps better at lane splitting than a cruiser though..

FOR SALE: '88 Yamaha FZX 750, low k's and decent condition. Looking for around 4.5K. Drop us a pm, view it any time. Oh, and trades considered for cruisers or naked sporties.

I stopped at the word "husband"

Why bother riding a scooter when you have a bike? *mind boggles*

Good on ya for keeping to two wheels girly

I want a scooter. Have a whole range of ideas for it, such as painting it bright orange and sticking some from of big single cylinder in the helmet compartment

    Shit yeah!

I'll ride anything but I am from Upper Hutt

I remember when the T-Max first landed on these shores, man you could get sprotbike riders heads to just about do full 360's when you passed them going up the gorge at 140

What's that supposed to mean, eh?

My scooter will look stock, but it must be faster than a 1000 to at least 50-70kph to scare them at the lights. Anyone that knows of an engine that can do that whilst fitting into a scooter, let me know.

something like an RZ350 motor stapled in there should do it.

I would love a scooter, the second motorised two wheeler I ever rode was a friends Mums Vespa 90, it was great out in the paddock.

I havent got spare money for something like that presently though.

Upper Hutt is a place with varied geography and road surfaces ranging from the gnarly terrain along the ridgelines of the Hydro valley,to the smooth boulevards of Poets block and the sinous ribbon of tarmac that is the Rimutaka hill road.
One must have more than one type of machine to make the most of the riding opportunities in our fine city and scooters are included in this too.

What did you think I meant?

That would be so awesome! But with the engine pretty much over the rear wheel on a scooter, and the front end weighing almost nothing, wouldn't a scooter that powerful just flip over when you tried accelerating hard?

Interesting. As much as I'd love a 1000 4 poking out each side, I can't afford that. Maybe in a few more years.

I was thinking a MX derived 2 stroke motor. They're quick off the mark. I don't want this to be a salt flat racer, I just want it to beat a 1000 from the lights. But a road going one would be good, possibly a RGV/NSR motor.

Going to have to get the scooter on finance I think. I know the local Yamaha dealer, I should get a good deal. Considering I got paid less than minimum wage when I worked there...

Wheelie bar. Possibly a fatter wheel made with a soft compound.

As much as I want the bike to look stock, there will probably be a few hints to it being tweaked. I'm thinking a bar will need to be welded from the headstock to the back, making it a step through no more. Plus a custom swingarm to get rid of the old motor since it won't be needed and to handle the power, preferably single sided. And I'm pretty keen on the front having 2 front grills in an aggressive shape for radiators inside the front fairing, that'll look awesome. The engine will hopefully be a methanol and nitrous fuelled beast. I speedway bike engine might do the trick.
