It is preferential to refrain from the utilisation of grandiose verbiage in the circumstance that your intellectualisation can be expressed using comparatively simplistic lexicological entities. (...such as the word fuck.)
Remember your humanity, and forget the rest. - Joseph Rotblat
Not when you start it up...it's later that the "dirty sex" noises come on, once you open the throttle and start giving her room to breathe...I am told that most of the noises are made by the rider though...
At first, it's a little whirr, then a light grumble and a throaty purr to follow from there![]()

Not too sure about the street 3 but got told that the 675 has it all over the 1050 speed 3 in suspension !
Triumph went all out with the 675 for handling and performance but cut corners on the Speed 3 ! Depending how hard ya ride it/what ya gonna do with it, i guess it will make little difference on the street !
Will see how the 1050 treats me on the track this weekend, sure has it all over the 955 down low (saving heaps on front tyre wear lol) !
A girlfriend once asked " Why is it you seem to prefer to race, than spend time with me ?"
The answer was simple ! "I'll prolly get bored with racing too, once i've nailed it !"
Bowls can wait !
Does the Street Triple use the same engine and running gear as the Daytona?
i.e. Is it just a Daytona with different looks, or is it completely different?

I rode the daytona 675 and just fell in love with the engine, it was there all the way without any sudden power changes, just a smooth power curve and boy did it sound the part, the riding position however was not for me, i felt like i was hanging over the front fairing with my arse in the air.
im waiting to take a street for a blast to see how it compares, and yip i agree with the white with the belly pan and full screen.
I read a reveiw which said the rear swing arm and frame are stolen from the daytona however they skimped on the brakes and forks which arnt fully adjustable like the daytona, however the instruments have more toys than a two year old.
mmmmm buell of street triple????
The Street has lower spec front brakes and suspension than the Daytona. BUT, as nearly every mag review I've read has said, what it does have is spot on for its intended use i.e. the best handling naked bike, while also being the cheapest (or close enough to cheapest. Certainly the cheapest non jappa).
The Street is also tuned more for street use than track, go figure with a name like Street triple!. Clever that. Hence a little less horse power but more torque.
Read the reviews and multi bike comparison tests ..it cleans up ever time.

Yeah, I kinda like the fact that it's not a track weapon.
I'm looking forward to a few trackdays, but have absolutely zero aspirations to race myself. It seems kinda cool that there's a bike that suits that.

I rode the street triple last Saturday. The only thing that stopped me handing over my deposit money was the suspension. It was far to soft and all you can adjust is the rear preload on the rear shock. It is a shame really.
However
This Saturday I have a test booked in on the 1050 speed triple and can give you a direct comparison if you like
That would be awesome.
Cheers mate, i'm about 5 months off being able to test it myself.

Ok had a great test ride this morning, as for a direct comparison between the 675 and the 1050.
I cant really compare the engines, both a great. Both have that smooth power delivery with bucket loads of tourque as to be expected from a triple, bu tthe 1050 pulls that bit harder and for a bit longer.
Riding position on of both bike is very relaxed, The 675 is a physically smaller bike when stationary but as soon as you are away rolling it doent really matter.
In terms of the seating, foot peg, handle bar relation ship both bikes felt very simular (no doubt if you were jumping straight from one to the other you would notice a difference but its not huge)
Brakes on both bike are excelent, with braided lines as standard on both. The 1050 brakes would be te better of the two but it is pulling up a larger bike.
The only mayor difference in feel between the two bike (apart from engine of course) is the quality of the suspension components. The 1050 does every thing well and with a little bit of tweaking to suit individual riding style would be a very well suspendered bike, unfortuently the same could not be said of the 675. The suspension on the 675 is just not suited to NZ roads and is limited to peload adjustment on the rear only. I guess it comes down to the best you know is the best you have ridden , and compared to the hyosung it is probally pretty good, but for me to own a 675 I would need to spend another $2K on aftermarket suspension.
I wouldnt consider the 1050 to big a step from from your 6R, dependent on what sort of rider you are. The power delivery is very manageable. I would be more worried about newb getting hold of the K7 GSXR750 I tested after the 1050.
