I wear Knee and neck braces.

Neck first i would say. more important then the knees.

And also don't buy MXPod knee braces, at 600 a pop the are on par with others price wise,
But in 4 months i have taken then back for repair 3 times as the knee cap gaurd has come adrift, all 3 times.
Now they (colmens) are saying that they arn't covered under the warrenty
and ill have to start buying the part in question.
And they said refund is out of the question as well.

Not happy with them at all (MXPOD, not so much colmensas they are just the middle man).

    1200 bucks down the drain.

i hated mine so i dont wear them anymore, used to wear holes in the side of the knee as they flex on the hinge. prefer no knee pads anyway.

I have a evs race collar, not very good really, just a neck roll. Think I'll get the cheaper Leatt when it comes out, the evs looks pretty bulky.

Man that sux, they should keep repairing under warranty.. consumer guarantees act means they should last for a reasonable amount of time, maybe not standard 12months for appliances but surely more than 4.

One day I'll get the asterisk cell braces, got good reviews & look sturdy as.

Well they have sent the gaurds back to the guys/girls at Podmx.
its has been the same problem on the same right had gaurd.
First they said it might be my riding style. (gripping with my knees)

Ill keep you guys posted on what happeneds anyway.

I like the gaurds they feel good to wear, but becasue of this one problem ill never buy another Podmx product.

I wear pants that go over my boots, and after a ride i find that patella gaurd has come off and falling out. never to been seen again.

Sure i crash (most of the time), everybody does.
1200 bucks worth of knee gaurds should be able to handle a few knocks.
My $60 Fly knee gaurds are still going after 3 years, they have now have become hand me downs, to their new owner.

Anyway thats my late night rant.

Hey Buddy L, Just to let you know the Leatt Braces have come down in price.
The Club is $849 and the Sport is $1099. The protection is the same for both, the sport is 70gm lighter. The Leatt is designed by a neuro surgeon with BMW (in Germany) and KTM in on it as well, so its had pretty rigorous testing.
The way you crashed head first is one of the worst, so you were lucky. My son had a big off, he snapped his colar bone in half and they thought he had broken his neck. It was the worst time of my life looking at him all plugged in and waiting for the x-rays results. He was lucky also, nothing major seen as tho he didn't have any type of neck brace on. Hes a good looking guy (from mums side) with so much ahead of him and it could of been so different.
I decided then to do a bit of homework on saftey gear, I wanted the best protection I could get. Have a look around, cheap is not always better. Check out the Leatt web site, www.leatt-brace.com there is a video by David Bailey its worth a watch. I was so moved by what he said I now sell the leatt neck braces, & the Cti wrist and knee. I'm not trying to do a sales pitch, I sell a lot to people after they get toasted, they sell themselves.

i have also had this debate with myself.

i came to the conclusion that..... if you break your neck your knees don't matter anymore. therefore neck brace first, knee braces second (when i win lotto)
I'm using Thor Force knee brace type shin guards.

Not up to the level of the others but not up to the price either.
Articulated kneecup, dual hinge pivots, side impact protection and some over-extension support.

I paid $150 2nd hand and now that's the new price.
