its hard to say that the brace 'saved you', but it def looks like it did the job it was designed to, i liked the fact the fro brace was softer and could crumple under impact, (like a helmet is designed to, simlar to car crumple zones)

there is also the Alpinestar brace coming out this year, it is going to be about the same price as the LEatt Sport brace,

the EVS is not out in america yet so i presume it is still a few months away from here as well,

there is some interesting comments overseas about the braces, some say the leatt is two stiff and causing collarbone and sternium injuries, there has even been a report of it breaking and cutting the skin in extreme cases, its a really tuff call which one to choose, Leatt is also putting extreme pressure on other neck braces though the courts about patients, which is casuing delays in releasing other types which may or may not be better,

i can imagine, carbon fibre being so stiff. and if that stuff breaks
(as per Team New Zealand) it will just slice the skin wide open
    nasty infected gashes.

sorry about all the questions but...

Do you use these for adventure riding or just your vintage mx/x country stuff?

Are they OK to wear all day in the saddle and walk around in?

Do they fit under ordinary over-trousers ok? (as opposed to the mx type pants)

    thanks

OH shit delete that last post I just noticed the "available" column! And its not! One overseas ad I googled said released June 9th so sorry for the false start guys!

On second thought though? I wear Azonic armour under my shirt (no outer roost vest). Would you have to take your shirt and armour off everytime you had to put this on and off as it looks like it fits directly onto your shoulders. I usually don't take my armour off only the shirt to cool down. I wonder how this would go with the armour that includes, back protector, shoulder, albow and kidney belt??
The new Leat Adventure doesn't have that big shoulder bit and from the pics I've just googled the Leatt goes on the outside of your roost vest or armour.

Any thoughts? This might be a game breaker. For me and my kids anyway!

the leatt is hinged on both sides so you can split in in half if you want when putting it on.
but i just open one side.
the thorax part down the back goes under your outer armour and the front piece that sits on your chest goes under armour too.
but it is easy to fit.
the leatt also comes with three different hinge sizes so you can make the neck opening smaller or larger which really does help when fitting it for the first time.

yeh but looks like you could loosen the azonic enough to get the Leatt in. Not so sure about the EVS. Can't find any pics of it being worn. Here's one off the brochure no hinge by the looks of it.
Soundbelt sound like you have a leatt do wear Azonic type armour as well?

    yeah i got a leatt,
got it off scott for a good price.
    i have fox armour.
    it fits easy.
although i did cut the foam out of the shoulders on the armour as it was pretty bulky. and it sort of pushed the leatt up a bit.
but i find it comfy as now.
and the leatt has so much adjustability.
the front and rear flaps can be raised or lowered,
the thorax part at the rear has 2 different angled pices to fit contour of your back.
three different hinges to make the neck cavity smaller and larger.
