should be able to get off the ticket by posting a photo of your new rego to the agency. i know when cops ticket you for that have you a grace period to attain the paper, then just send a photo and they clear it.

you dont even need to do that, the wof / rego details are all on the data base, give it a day or so (to get on the system) and then ring up the council and say "i was getting my rego when i got a ticket" and they will wipe it.
Then I could get a Kb Tshirt, move to Timaru and become a full time crossdressing faggot

Yeah yeah.....''was just going to pay that''...guess they have heard that more than once....
Following a car home late last night....the right rear light was not working.
My question was...'' if that guy got pulled over by a cop, would he get a fine''
    The answer....yes
If it were me, I would say to the cop ''thanks for telling me, is there anything alse''?
    I would not expect a fine....at all.
My arguement is...How the fuck would I know its not working?
Unless someone tells me....or at the next warrant check.

But if the OP has done it then it is no longer an 'excuse', rather a valid reason.

It is, however, the driver/owner's responsibility to maintain their vehicle to WOF standard at all times. The six monthly check is exactly that, a verification at that time that the vehicle complies.

Got one for expired cage WOF last year from a street stalker.
F**ked me right off. But took the soft option and just paid it.

True very true, but in this instance, the qestion is...''was going to the post office that day, do I have a come back''
Back to the excuse without a reason.

i often tell customers if their lights arent working. have been thanked every single time. i cant imagine it would be hard to keep an eye on car lights... get a neighbour to check every so often while your pressing the brake, indicators etc. it would more be the hassle of remembering to do it.

you can do the same as well if you have a garage. leave the door down, and you can see the reflection in your mirrors. indicators might be a bit harder, but you can hop out and check those. also, you could weight the foot brake with something.

All good points but im not going to go that extreme when I can could just as easily fight it out in court and get the fine overturned to a warning....
