Its John Cobb that's probably gonna get it from officialdom for letting people stand there anyway, especially if she was just spectating rather than entering the track on her bike. I would guess they may see this as preventable, but who knows??? I go back to my earlier comments comparing MX to karting. You would never be able to spectate or enter a track on the outside of a corner, period.

From the other thread Scott posted for support letters it looks like the poor kids in a bad way. So lets move on and wish her and her family all the luck in the world!!!

    ill drink to that.

Shit can you come around and convince the wife of that LOL!!!
On a Motorcycle you're penetrating distance, right along with the machine!! In a car you're just a spectator, the windshields like a TV!!

Could you cotton candy coat all the bad things in the world while you're at it ?

Forums are for discussions, and people to express their opinions. Some people say things the way they want, just becuase you disagree with it doesn't mean it shouldn't be said.

I'm not defending anyone, I'm not attacking anyone, I'm just saying people have opinions which make others your friends or your enemies.

Hang on, if the injured girl was online and reading this post, then she must be on the road to recovery! Awesome

Like Drew says, its a freedom of speech forum. You can't bag Boom for his crued way of thinking. I'm sure what he really mean't was that some control should be placed on where spectators should be able to view a race. I would be one of the worst for wanting to get right in there and view the action, and thats the risk i take because nobody is stopping me from doing it.

I can only hope for the best for the young injured girl, and hope she makes a full recovery, but it sounds to me like she is in quite a bad way.

Anyone got an update on the girls condition?

(copied Drew: Could you cotton candy coat all the bad things in the world while you're at it ?)

Yeah, I know what you mean, but you wouldn't want everything in bad the world to be coated in gorse and barbed wire either, especially under these particular circumstances. A bit of social lubricant on opinions goes a long way as the gears go round. When you put words out in the wild (Interweb) it's always good to be aware that they can have unintended consequences. I know I often struggle composing the most basic emails in case tone is misunderstood. Curse of the written word.

I'm sure the girl was 100% aware that she was not standing in a good position just before the bike hit her - as are her family and us too. (I reckon the SCU will spend a thou or two of taxpayer $ to reach the same conclusion.) I think it was just the description of the girl that raised a few hackles. Boom did a good edit on it. I was just fretting a bit about her family. Scott is sending 'get well soon' emails from us (KBers) to the family, it seemed likely they would go online to try and cheer themselves up and end up on this thread. I actually woke up the other night thinking about this (mea culpa - unbloke-like Nanna factor) and I thought her parents were probably awake as well.

(copied arj127: the injured girl was online and reading this thread last night?)

No, (my bad communication skill). It was the lady who Scott is in touch with who was online. The injured girl must still be in a very bad state as Scott would have updated. I think in this case no news is bad news, but we can all hope for the best.

I'm not trying to cotton candy coat bad things,i'm well aware forums are for disscussion and if you read back i've voiced my opinions,as have alot of us,i know we are all entitled to our opinions and we won't always agree but a bit of tact is needed sometimes...........i was just thinking about her family and some aspects of some comments.........that's all

i see both sides of the argument here, both Steve and Drew both have valid points,

my veiw is that you should always post thinking that the family of the people can read it, and if you are not willing to say things to there face its not worth writing on the internet,

You got my vote on that one Scott! Behind you 100%.
In fact I'll even give some bling for that as bling doesn't happen to much in the off road forums.

Now I'm gonna go do some work on the Z1R, that, that cute blond knocked me off on new years day! Grrrrr
