It's been long over due but here's the final results of a face lift on the 2001 Fireblade.

Nothing mechanically has changed, everything you see is purely cosmetic and pretty much everything is done inside a good friend's workshop in Ponsonby and most of the decals are off Ebay.

    The changes:

Fairings has been fully re-sprayed red and black :$400

Factory style 929 decals off Ebay (via Replicals.com) :$130

Tinted screen from Hong Kong off Ebay :$30

Recovered the rear seat and blinged it out - off a upholstery dude in Sandringham :$40

Ventura L brackets: free, came with the bike

Integrated tail light off Ebay: $100

    Led indicators off Cycletreads: $45

Metallic rim tape off Ebay: $17

3 months of slacking around: priceless

Also, a warm mention to Warren from Virgin Mufflers for doing some work on my muffler and some metal bits on the bike. I highly recommended him for his expertise, knowledge and craftsmanship on mufflers.

Overall, I think it's a much hotter look than what it was before, and it's true red goes faster and gets way more attention from chicks!

Below, some before and after shots.

The painter is a dude in the city, on the same street Coleman's Suzuki is on which is Gundry Street and the workshop is all the way down on the right hand side. I'll see if I can dig up his name and number. I do have to say $400 bucks is pretty much mate's rates.

I do have to mention my paint job is a tad off when you compare it to the tank as I let somebody else organized it for me (which was a mistake on my part).

Just be doubley sure when somebody does a paint job they can get the exact same colour!

Nice one bro.....looks just like the american colour scheme which is better than the UK tri-colours.
