Did your friend get busted for 102kmh in a 100 zone? Did he dispute the ticket or were there some major extenuating circumstances around it?

He got busted for 52 in a 50 area, no school anywhere in sight. Apparently he was told this was going to be the norm from now on. He didnt ague and went in and paid the fine straight away, but we all agreed that this now has gone too far with the pigs doing this shit. The oinker that did this must have a really small dick or uncle helens stuck up his arse...

Why defend if youve done something wrong?

From all the tickets and suspensions ive had, Ive never fought against one.

The problem is that doing 52 in a 50, while technically illegal, is not beyond the speedometer's margin of error. You could be doing 47 as far as your speedo is concerned and still be done for 52. In Switzerland they actually deduct 5kph from the ticket before working out the alleged speed. This is an official thing (i.e. is printed on the speed camera notice) and not just the cop being nice.

Look, if people are going to ignore advice and pay tickets like this then there is nothing you can do to help them.

Depends if the advice is worthy or just from a kangaroo court which is all this place usually is. All great to be the great knowing online, but the reality is usually much different...

my understanding is that ALL vehicles that come into NZ are given a 10k tolerance either way I.E. 50k may be 40k or 50k may be 60k , which is why there is the same 10k tolerance when it comes to issuing tickets . I know for a fact (cousin is Hp in wellies) that in Wellington they only ticket at 11k over . I personally would have laughed at the cop and asked is that the best you could do ? at least make something up ... "your car is too low, loud , ugly" etc and make the ticket seem less like a revenue collection exercise, and more like a creditable ticket.....

That policy has been changed. There's now a 5kph tolerance around schools.

Last year I got a speed camera ticket for doing 55kph in a 50kph zone.

Fortunately the fine was very small - I think it was only $35 (but I can't remember for certain).

You inadvertantly suggest I talk out of my arse. Why not just tell me straight-up I have no experience on that subject. And how would you know anyway ?

The facts are more like, people who ASK questions on KB ask them because they have NFI, and people who ANSWER them DO, coz they done it.
