I don't know one single cop (and believe me, I know quite a few), who will ticket someone just to get money out of them. It's preposterous.
Under the revenue collecting argument the cops are just the unwitting collectors for the government.

The 10k tolerance is still in.... but trucks and cars with trailers have a 5k tolerance, cars outside schools as stated earlier is only 4k...
Good to know there is some tolerance given, fair enough lower for heavy vehicles, they are stuck at 90km,and many are governed to max road speed of 100km anyway.

If the speed limit is enforced to the line, and the lower tolerances(5km) introduced,I for one would like to see some lawyer try to take it into court, not against the cops, but the vehicle manufacturers for supplying faulty speedos in their vehicles.I mean how often in a magazine does it show speedo reading then actual readings, sure they may err on the lower side but,if the original wheels, tyres etc are present then surely the speed can be accurate in todays modern technology era. Will never happen couldn't imagine holden, ford, toyota saying here mr xxx give us your fine we'll reimburse your pocket.

Sure. Are you their mommy ? Wifey ? Boyfriend ? Despite what you may think, people can think for themselves and they don't need their boyfriend on the side to speak for them.

As a general rule of thumb, you will find that general rules of thumb actually don't work that well when you take them out of your context and apply them to others, but I am not here to help you with your life. Simply be aware with me if you suggest I am full of shit you will get a very fucking clear explanation.

And quit with the name calling, its a poor, wee, stupid look, and makes you look weak, and its the final step in the cycle of violence before the decision to hit.

because the PD system is getting full of people basically getting paid $120 an hour, instead of forking out $920 for not wearing a seatbelt?

i've written a ticket for 102/100, the motorist was just glad that i hadn't ticketed him for the 102/50 that i had been tracking him for as he came all the way out hamilton rd cambridge, first 102/50, then 102/70, then finally 102/100. was just his lucky day i guess.

:salute: Many thanks officer! Sometimes a frown, glare, and slap-on-teh-wrist from a friendly constable DOES make us slow down and think. Even just a headlight-flash and a wagged finger makes me think.. "oh yeah, grumble.. fair enough.."

Keep doing it, Sir. But DO throw the book at the really dangerous shitheads, thanks.

Farkin near got a RSI on my right finger from doing just that..sometimes have to flash the blue'n'reds too - just to get their attention, sheesh, it's no wonder some have to depend on a radar detector to let them know a cop is there, obviously their God-given eyes ain't up to it.!!.

(Never had anybody jump on KB and tell me how good I was for doing it though....)

And what would you advise on my case with the police, I was not clocked at a speed and even if I was speeding where did dangerous speeding come from ( under dangerous driving according to prosecutor ) But shouldnt it be a basic speeding ticket? i wasnt 40kmph over or anything.

This is an excellent piece of propaganda.

under the new law only some tickets are reducing. For example - currently the ticket for exceeding the speed limit by up to 10kph is in a lower grade than that for exceeding the speed limit by between 11 and 20kph. As I understand it, under the new law this distinction will be removed and the same ticket will apply from 1 to 25kph (from memory) over the speed limit. This will have the affect that the tickets for 1 to 10kph over will actually increase in monetary value, not decrease.

The apparent individual ticket price may be dropping but some pundits are predicting that the overall take will increase. You may even find that tolerances drop and quotas go up.

Something else that may come into play. With higher demerits there will be more disqualifications and more applications for work licences. This will also increase the overall fee intake.

Some pundits are full of shit. (Although lawyers may make a few $$ out of it - ya don't think the law will be changed to suit them do ya?)

You'd have to produce accurate figures of how many tickets get issued in this speed range, (and others) before your propaganda would have any meaning beyond pure speculation.
