15 liter tank of my 650 cc Aprillia Pegaso usualy only gets me about 200 km. Have never been disciplined enough to nana through a whole tank, but doubt it could get much more out of it....
Opinions are like arseholes: Everybody has got one, but that doesn't mean you got to air it in public all the time....

    GSX-R1000 K2, 16km/L

    2007 R1, 13km/L

    GSX1400K7, 14km/L (10km/L when I'm using the throttle a bit, 8km/L at trackdays)

Sounds to me like the SVs can be pretty frugal.

Anyway, I'm off to ride to work on the Mighty EL250 - 30km/L!

    Yup. Surprising, aye?

Obviously that's for restrained highway cruising under the ton, but still, not too bad for a ronkin stonkin superbike IMHO. I do love the K2s.

Edit: Your Kat's aircooled, like my GSX1400. Those particular Suzuki engines seem to have the characteristic of delivering gorgeous smooth power, lasting forever, and being anything but frugal on the gas.

Cant imagine what id get on the track ,not shocking to look down and see the fuel light on at about 150kms out of a 18ltr tank in the twisties

    Must be.

I used to get ... oooh... as much as 30mpg on the VTR1000, but 28 was more typical....
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

I get about 15.9k/l before reserve on normal fuel and about 17.5-19k/l on mobil 8000. Thats riding mostly commuting with the occasional thrash thrown in when I get the time. Mines a 2003 naked.

PS. no other vehicle / bike passed me all day, so I wasn't going that slow.
If you dont slow down for the corners you
    1. go fast
    AND
    2. use less gas

You also said... "Fwiw the TL is a sack of shite until about 6500 rpm then it sings"

My SV with the yoshies on is quite rideable down as low as 3500 rpm.

Suzuki sacrificed a few top-end hp to give the SVs more low-end and midrange power from the TL by reducing the size of the intake valves from 40mm to 36mm and changing cam profile other such things.

Having more low-end and midrange is going to make the power delivery feel more bland because you don't get a sudden rush at 6500.

Rather have it my way thanks.Whatever they did didnt work as low end the SV doesnt leave the TL behind, thought 6500 was midrange
