    Dad seemed resigned/ hoping I would fall off and give up. But When he saw how much I got out of it he was cool.

    Mum paid me three grand to give up my old bike...... then stole it back......So its only fair I now have a new one.

    Most parents just want their kids to be happy and safe, show them you can be and they will come on board.

    My mum approved of me riding a bike as soon as i stopped asking for bus money!!

    well the parents are taking the poor student approach..... If i can't pay for it i can't ride it well i though i would be in serious trouble and would spend countless days huddled in a corner dreaming of bikes ................then i found salvation...the student loan   of course they lend me money i(f i insist on riding a broken bike) to get it fixed if need be.
