    My bike got stoled!

So after getting home this Sunday morning at 2.30am I realised my motorbike was gone. Last I saw it was when I parked up at 11am on Saturday.

Its a black, naked, 2005 Hyosung GT250 with licence plate 26WWK so if anyone sees it could you give me a text/call please on 027 666 9725.

Not sure why anyone would steal it, it's a bit of a dog, but I am in Naenae, Lower Hutt so I probably shouldn't expect anything less. I need it back cause I can't drive a car so I am going to have a shit time getting to work and back.

    Cheers guys!

Thats the craps. Sorry to hear about that. I did not think a Hyo would be stolen (more like Ducatis and big Bandits) but even so I have a disk lock and high tensile security chain on my GT250.

Did you have your's locked with anything other than the steering lock?

It always seems to me that more "dogs" get stolen than nice new Ducati's and R1's. I suppose that supports the view that most motorcycle theft is opportunistic. Good reason for everyone to ensure they lock up their bike carefully.

    Bad luck Jizah

Thanks guys. Yeah feeling pretty shitty at the moment. Me and that bike went everywhere together!

Just used the stock steering lock itself unfortunately. Have parked it in the same place since I bought it over 2 years ago. At the back of a private carpark in the storage sheds. It was pretty tucked away.

I really think it's a case of someone shitting in their own nest so to speak, so going to go door knocking soon and see if anyone knows anything.

I live in a pretty bad block of flats, been here for 4 years, and on Friday night I finally found a new place. Due to move there on June 1st. So it's bad timing too.

If it doesn't show up, I guess now I have a good excuse to get a new bike! Was always having trouble when I was taking it up to the Bay of Islands and whatnot.

Just bumping this to see if anyone has seen anything

And also, I am able to sit my full license in November. Do you guys reckon I could get away with a 400-600cc bike now instead of having to get a fill in 250?
I've done over 50,000km of riding in the last 3 years, surely that counts for something!

Although knowing my luck, even though I've never been pulled up before or had an accident, some clown will pull out in front of me at a roundabout and I'll be in a shitload of trouble. :S

Can't help with the stolen one unfortunately, so commiserations on your loss. Hope the lowlife's get caught and dealt with!

Can you take a Defensive Driving course and get your term on your Restricted shortened? I can't endorse riding outside your licence conditions and recommend doing things legally.

There seems to be an epidemic of L-platers and those on their Restricted who casually flout the law without consideration of the consequences.

Much more satisfaction in knowing you've done it right and no bad conscience to stress you while riding, either.
You don't get to be an old dog without learning a few tricks.
Shorai Powersports batteries are very trick!

Jizah I am in Stokes Valley and drive daughter to school every morning down to Lower Hutt, I will keep and eye out for you and travel home after dropping her off and take different routes just to canvas the area for you.

Is there anything unique that will identify the bike eg. A scratch or mark in an unusual place on the bike eg tank or swingarm, because for sure I don't think the plate 26WWK would still be on it.

    Good One

Now go straight out and get yourself one big mother of a fuck-off case-hardened chain and a large padlock.

    'cos you need it.
