The bike is actually a new model, complete with fuel injection and Harley's new six-speed transmission. The movie crew manages to make the bike look much older by using parts from older machines, such as the old Sportster tank and pre-war "beehive" tail light. Look real close and you may even notice the fake kick-starter which must just be welded to the frame. The 50's performance and handling is of course standard.

LOL!!! Couldn't help noticing that the bike started instantly at the lightest stab at said "kickstarter", too...

    (I do like Harley's, honest...)

i get mega frustrated with that! i was watching transformers the other day and the aprillia that the lead actor rides near the end howls like a 4IL. fucking americans not wanting other americans to hear the (far, far) far better sound of an italian twin..haha!

and yeh thats some good continuity, drilled disc brakes..i suppose if he's gotta ride a harley they need it to stop somehow though. poor kid

    "May 23, 2008

Milwaukee, WI - A Harley-Davidson Softail Springer Classic features prominently in the new Indiana Jones movie ‘Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull’ that opened in theaters across the country yesterday.

Directed by Steven Spielberg, the latest in the series of cult Indiana Jones movies stars Harrison Ford and Shia LaBeouf along with a 2007 Harley-Davidson Softail Springer Classic customized to reflect the movie’s 1957 period setting. The bike’s starring role comes during one of the film’s signature action-packed chase scenes, and features Shia LaBeouf tearing through a college campus with Harrison Ford along for the ride as a passenger.

Harley-Davidson Motor Company prepared five bikes for this movie and was closely involved with the on-set handling of the bikes. After the completion of the filming, two of the bikes will be returned to the Motor Company and will be on display in the soon-to-be-opened Harley-Davidson Motorcycle Museum, which opens to the public on July 12 in Milwaukee.

Harley-Davidson Motor Company, the only major U.S.-based motorcycle manufacturer, produces heavyweight motorcycles and a complete line of motorcycle parts, accessories and general merchandise. "

HD payed for product placement in the movie.

Point of interest is the liquid cooling.

A quick 2 minute search was all that was needed- there's an art to finding the right info at times. I must point out it's KNOW not NO.
Hmmm, wasn't your last bike a H.................. oh ell, never mind.

Wasn't Harrison Ford appointed the Board of Directors of the Archaeological Institute of America or something?
