My pics were all taken on my cellphone camera so don't compare to the others, but here are some anyway.

    1. Some waterfall somewhere (Laava took us there, I think he knows what it's called?) EDIT: Wairua Falls.
    2. The group at Wairua Falls.
    3. Some random bed below the Twin Bridges.
    4. Laava had so much fun going over these rocks that he decided to go back and do them again!
    5. What's the world coming to?! Why would people steal signs??
    6. Gijoe1313 enjoying his ride on PippiWaka.

    Well, THAT was fun!

A leisurely drive to Hirepool, uplifting a trailer, fuel for the beast and then a short wait for Zeocen to turn up on his 2 wheel beast, then a hop up to Whangarei for the uplifting of a sad looking Pippi.

Got to the information centre in Whangarei just on 2, and waited... and waited... and waited some more.

Sure, 3 and a half hours is a bit of a wait, but info centres are great!

Mini bus after mini bus after camper van after touristvehicle, with lots of... errr... interesting people to look at.

Even Angry Chick(tm) from the Info centre cafe was a topic of conversation for a while (well, for Zeocen anyway, seems to have a thing for short chicks with long dark hair dressed in black and surly attitudes...)

After many fervent texts to various peoples, the odd phone call ("How much bloody longer are ya gonna be??") and watching Subaru after Subaru of the Whangarei contribution to the decline of the gene pool, lo! The mighty GN escorted Pippi into town, atop the beast that was The Ute(tm)

Met Laava, the fine young lass behind the wheel of The Ute(tm) and lightly mocked one weary yet well fed looking Asian fellow.

Loaded Pippi into the trailer, and then we were on our way, stopping briefly at McD's Orewa for a quick intake of heart disease before continuing on to the home of the gijoe1313 - WHERE I BACKED THE TRAILER UP THE DRIVE PERFECTLY!

Next time - I'm going up that way on 2 wheels dammit... these rescues are fine and good, but nowhere near as much fun!

Donor: So ya glad you're a Biker?

    Minnie: F**k yeah!

Cor blimey that's the most fun I've had in a long time.

I've driven in a car to Haunted Kastle Klingon more times than I can remember, but somehow doing it on a bike at 45km per hour accompanied by a bunch of good humoured, rather eccentric, very adventurous people was unlike any other trip!

I was very sorry that Pippi didn't make the distance under her own power. She's a great little machine with a good attitude - she really did her best to take that madman all the way. Never mind, we are assured she will get another chance as soon as the duct tape has set.

I'm not as sore today as I thought I would be. I recommend Bike Yoga to anyone undertaking a long journey at 45kph. I also recommend Dog Turds and Cat Crap - two products that did their job well and helped us to get home in one piece.

My special thanks to Mama Jo for her patience and generosity. It takes a special kind of human being to tag along behind a bunch of mad bikers at a snail's pace for many, many hours and not complain. And even more for putting up with gijoe in the cab! I can't imagine what the conversation would have been like!

i must say some of those pictures are great even the one with Rawberry up to the crank case in mud! she has forgiven me as i told her id polish her shiny bits and even change her oil and filter later this week......

i extend a big thank you to everyone who took the time to jump on bikes and at lighting fast speeds ride up to the cape! i would also like to say thank you to mama jo for keeping on smiling even when trapped inside a ute with the crazy asian fellow and yes i will be putting ABBA on my Ipod for next time!

it was cool to see the ride finished just as it was started at max speed of 80ks all the way to mt wellington even though after dropping off BigDog we could have speed off at 100.....

pikachu is sitting on the bed asking to go for another ride.... and he isnt yellow anymore after that jump into gravel on the way to wellsford!

anyone who has pics can you please send them to my email fireball@kiwibiker.co.nz so i can send a few to greg at outward bound.

donations can still be made so if you wish to donate PM me for the bank account details!

once again THANK YOU for an AWESOME weekend and see you all again next year for the CC CHALLENGE!!!!

erm, we did do 100 once we cleared the 80k zone through town But only just 100, Gina was too used to cruising slowly, i felt mean trying to coax anything more out of her. Plus sitting lightly on the front brake to keep my taillight on

Dunno if you saw, but i wrote "1000" in the air with my finger at the top of the harbour bridge, my trip meter rolled over from 999.9 to 000.0 just as we came to the top of the bridge, how fitting!

Still havent had a chance to clean her yet, might quickly do that before i must drive south again. Will send you pics once i find my cable and a 'puter with fast interweb

yeah I noticed you had your brake light on for the motorway traffic. That's why I hopped in front - hoping with Fireball behind and me in front we might keep you more visible. Badger sandwich anyone?
