I only live ounce (in theory) so I might as well taste as many flavors as I can right?
Dude ur nuts, I've liked what U've said in the past and you seem like a nice guy. But u haven't done inline fours or anything else, sure U've binned them but that doesnt mean u've ridden them well.

You werent ready for the R6 and your sure as hell not ready for anything bigger. Get a 400 and learn the basics first, take it one step at a time. Just because you have the cash doesnt mean you automatically qualify for a big flash bike.

You've got off that crash bloody lucky and I fear the way you are going you won't live to ride many more... please look at what you are doing and be humble enough to admit your not ready.

LOL, you assume alot YamahaR64Life.....that wasnt my first bike and I've taken the MSF course TWICE. Ounce before I got my very first 250 and ounce with a friend who was nervous to give him a little support. Both times I got the highest score in the class on the riding portion and a perfect 100 on the written. Second time I took it of course I expected to be the best....... .

Just in case you're wondering I still went out with my friends and practiced the basics in empty Walmart parking lots long after the MSF course.

On top of that I ride with alot of ex-racers and stunters and such......we ride hard. I ride with them twice a week. All of them know me and know my skill level. Just because I had an off doesnt all of a sudden mean I cant ride worth a shite and need to get a 400 either. I'll leave it at this: the guys I ride with are more then happy to let me ride thier bikes during the ride outs most of which are liter bikes. That says alot to me because Im the only person I've ever seen them let ride thier bikes.....and Im talking about groups of 30-40 people here. After about 15 ride outs (each one about a 2-3 hour ride) with the large group I got invited to the "A group" ride out which is a smaller select group within the larger group for peeps with a higher skill level that meet ounce a week on a different day. I didnt ask to be in this group. I didnt even know it existed until I was invited. What matters is that other people, some who have been riding for longer then I've been alive, haved owned more motorcycle then I have years in my life, and have racing experience, watched me ride for a period of time in the group and judged my ability, and decided I was good enough for the A-list.

The point Im trying to make is that Im not some noob with a bunch of money that went out and got an R-6 just for the hell of it. I've taken the time to learn how to ride and I will CONTINUE to take the time to improve my riding ability. Thats why I took the MSF course twice.....its why I continued to practice the basics they teach in that course on my own......its why I went to the ride outs twice a week.....its why I made myself ride in the rain when others didnt want to get thier bike dirty or get soaked......its why I scheduled track school at VIR, etc etc etc............

Yeah....I binned the R-6. Shit happens. Doesnt mean all of a sudden I need training wheels. Believe me.....going through a big off like that with serious injuries is a VERY sobering experience. I know Im lucky to be alive and not paralyzed. But I also know that I NEED to get back in the saddle and I cant go backwards when I do. I need to get up, dust myself off, and keep pushing forwards...using the same steady progression that worked so well for me so far. Thats what Im gonna do.

Oh and one more thing. Please dont think Im gonna be running around the streets on a literbike tearing them up. Im not crazy. I dont want to die, I dont want to kill somebody else, and I cant get any speeding tickets. One big reason Im considering a literbike is becuase they just make better streetbikes for a guy my size. Im 6' tall so the literbike frame ergo's suit me a little better. Also they have better midrange which makes them more suitable for around town riding which I do alot of during my daily commute. They also make better bikes then the 600's for long distance highway commuting which I have to do from time to time. They also make excellent track bikes. I would prefer to have a 600 for track work but if I only get to own one bike at a time....I gotta make some concessions and since the vast majorty of my miles will be on the street thats where my priorities have to be. So its a logical thing for me to consider a literbike. Doesnt mean its set in stone. Just something Im considering. Hell, I might get a literbike, sell it, and go back to a 600.......but I'll never know until I try.

    Cheers.

LOL, I know somebody with a heavily modded TL-1000. Dont see many of those around these days. In fact, his is the only one I see on a regular basis.

I kinda like it. If I were gonna go old school like that I'd more likely source out a good 1997 Kawasaki Zx-7.......I've always wanted one of those. I'd even go for something earlier like a '91 if I could actually find one in good condition. So far I've only seen one example that was in perfect condition and the guy wasnt selling it for anything. .
