in this case it was two people deeply involved with the BOB meet in chch the mod told me (cant quote cos its in a p/m and that would be bad) that they wernt racing in the event so they basicly didnt need to post... well one is racing and the other has organised their partner to race aswell...
Let's just start out by saying that the mods are just other forum members, they are human, they are not infallible. Sometimes you make good calls other times you make bad calls. Personally I think the mods are making more good calls than bad calls - generally. That doesn't mean that they can't slip every now and again - and moderation is a slippery slope indeed.

The mods do a job - and an unpaid and ungrateful one at that... I wouldn't want to do it, but it has to be done though, so good on them for signing up (be it for the right reasons, mind)!

It has been stated over and over, again and again, that if you have an issue with a moderator - it being an action or general conduct - you should write a PM to either the moderator in question, a senior moderator or the admin team about it.

As for moderators on a power-trip... That would be a fucking laugh now wouldn't it.

So what is the purpose of this thread? To find the answer to the question asked? Or to just grand stand and take a few shots at the latest moderator who does not agree with you and your ideals dangerous?

I presume the latter, however will be a sucker and step up and say you have already got your answer Dangerous, but it did not suit your agenda:

Spot on Jim, pity the answer was not comprehended.

He will never see the real problem. I agree it is very sad.

No where did the Mod in question say “Anyone who is not involved in the BOB cannot post here.” All he asked was that the thread stays on topic and that is his right as a mod of this site and in accordance with the site rules...

Now off you go little man... get back on your box, stomp your foot some more, scream a little louder... I’m sure someone on KB has not yet been hit by the toys flying out your cot, and Im sure the anti mod brigade will stroke that already large ego of yours and make you feel better very soon!

edit: oh sorry I forgot the vital wink that makes everything you say ok

How could my post have been off topic?

I am racing at the BOB, I was dreaming of a threesome with one of the other BOB racers and I posted a picture of a girl on a motorbike (possibly a bucket)

    Oh well.

It's like becoming a cop.... suddenly you need to look at, obey and enforce the guidelines rather than wonder where they are and see what you can get away with.

    Obvious innit?

JR - racing popcorn got MSG in it?

Um... what does IMHO mean? I have no idea what half these abbreviations mean.

I have no idea how an iPod works either.

The infraction system isn't "complaint driven". It's rule driven and they're really simple rules that you have to agree to when you join up.
So, where then is there reference to this rule (it's a new one as far as I know) that says that anyone who is not actively participating in a racing event is prohibited from posting in a thread about it,and will be infracted for doing so ?

Bit like the cops really isn't it. They sometimes invent rules on the roadside, too.

    Power corrupts.

Welcome Ixion, that did not take you long...

The moderator in question asked for the thread to be kept on topic, and you know as well as I do there is a rule for that:

    Snip.....
    Infraction Types:
    Taking thread off topic
It’s a thread about a race meeting.... not anything else, he asked it stay that way... or he could just as easily moved the entire thread to rant and rave and let them talk about anything they want?

Nothing wrong with a bit of chit chat, but the mod was doing his best to ensure the people who want to read through the BOB thread does not have to also read through pages of other irrelevant stuff as well. He did his level best... good on him for trying...
