He used to do a roaring trade in pipes for Harleys.

Your memory is at fault, High Country is on the outskirts of Methven - and still there.

I have Graeme Harris' current business card. He works for the Polytechnic now, teaching people how to do stuff. I went to a motorbike show recently and he was there with a stand and they had this grass kart racer that the students had built. Nice guy. Still does a bit of stuff on the side and owns the dyno as well. Last time I saw it Glenn was using it at Street and Sport doing stuff on his VFR400

Manchester street frontage in the period when it was Triumph/Yamaha - and your old man was in the parts dept..
Doug must have been out - if he'd seen a kawasaki being photographed out front he'd have been out and said something.

    Well I am f-ing confused?

So harris has the Yellow Lada out at Lewis Pass? if so why does he have two company names?
I remember going to his workshop I think it was it was over somewhere parallel to the Railway lines on the port hills side?

Reasonably simple....Motorcycle Ex specialsts have the "licence" to make harris pipes from G Harris.
They're up the Lewis...And the owner's name is Graeme...
Graham Harris himself is in ChCh - as has been said, tutoring at what seems to be a combination of Poly and Uni.
