    Question Packracks

:sly: Just looking through the Motorcycle trader, and I spotted a SP1 with a pack rack...WHY?

    WHY?

Why do people put packracks on Sportsbikes? It looks fucken stupid!

    Rant over...

The world will look up and shout "Save Us!", and I'll whisper "no"

I love having a pack rack, saves having a pack on my back when going on a trip
When not using it, you would hardly know the bike was fitted with one

Do you know (I just found out today ...) that you can get racks for a Ducati???

And I thought WHAT?????? you GOTTA be bloody joshing me, why the hell would any sane person put a pack rack on a Ducati?!

And then I thought of all the gear (including bedding and xmas presents) that I am supposed to be taking on the bike over the 'ditch' at xmas and wonder how the hell am I going to do that without a rack?????

Are they removable? I mean can you fit them for a specific trip and then take 'em off when until you need them again????

    and / or

i use my rack all the time - spare helmet, wet weathers, pilot gear, work gear. much rather on there than in a bag on my back

I kind of have to agree with you on than Johnboy.... especially on a Duc!!

Sorry HerB4, I know there are practical issues that you are facing, but the poetry of a Duc coming past you is slighly lost if its got a pack attacted... but hey, whatever works for you at the time! right?
