I would describe them as hard rock but, I'm not much of a music expert. They do quite a few comical songs - the song they are most well known for is "Greatest song in the world" where they beat Satan by singing the "greatest song in the world".

its more like mock rock but they wouldnt call themselves that. they are great for a laugh because they do comedy in their songs but take it really seriously and make it a good song.

Fucking Her Gently is still my favourite song off their album. Love the vid for it too.

Bit of trivia: tD feature in High Fidelity during one of the flashbacks to his college days. The movie co-stars Jack Black, but this scene doesn't involve his character.
Hayden - Evidence that even the mediocre can achieve great things.

I'm not exactly much for reviews, but the concert was very very kick ass.

They played for almost two hours, after a warm up by Wellington band 'Crumb'.

Tenacious D are rock, maybe even hard rock, but they are very unique in one way - the entire band is two guys, Jack Black (the actor, from King Kong and stuff) and his friend Kyle Gass. They are the band, entirely. Their whole show is performed entirely on two acoustic guitars. That's it. No bass, no drums, no backup singers, nothing. Just two guys and each with a guitar.

They played pretty much all their best songs, plus a couple of new ones, including one about King Kong (which Peter Jackson apparently likes, but isn't going to include on the Kong soundtrack) and one about New Zealand and how great out weed is (they say there are other good things too, but the song doesn't list any).

The performances of 'Tribute' (Greatest Song in the World), 'Wonder Boy', 'Explosivo' and 'Double Team' (Sex Supreme) were absolutely fucking great. As was 'Fuck Her Gently'

I don't tend to go to many concerts, but I decided I couldn't miss this one. I was rewarded.

Check out the Album clips in the A/V section of the Tenactious D site or listen to the track samples at Amazon

I'm waiting for the stickers for my bike, the t-shirt will have to wait.
